Global rollback for WAN233
- Global user: WAN233 (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA )
- Hello.I have a certain amount of work in Chinese Wikipedia and Classical Chinese Wikipedia, and Classical Chinese Wikipedia is a small wiki.I often check the recent changes in the page when I have time and I now often use Twinkle to roll back the damage.Having a global fallback can crack down more quickly and easily. I hope to get this permission to work better.Thanks.--WAN233 (talk) 05:53, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

- I don't think you need rollback access on 450+ active wikis to revert vandalism on the five you are active on. It can be difficult reverting vandalism past language barriers, so I'd prefer to see some more experience with that before supporting. Also, I would like to see a bit more experience in general before supporting any requests for global permissions. – Ajraddatz (talk) 06:08, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

Global IP block exempt for WAN233
- Global user: WAN233 (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA )
I live in the People's Republic of China. As the People's Republic of China can not normally visit Wikipedia.(Because of en:Great Firewall) So I often use tools such as VPN,en:Lantern (software)or Tor. And I have work in Chinese Wikipedia and Classical Chinese Wikipedia. I hope my request is approved, thanks --WAN233 (talk) 05:48, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
- Given your little cross-wiki involvement my advice is to try to solution this via local IP block exemptions. If they're global IP blocks that affect you, please contact us with the exact details of the error message so we can review your request. Thanks for your understanding. Hi Wikimedians. I'm sorry to realise I forgot to write a statement. I hope now is not so late to do it. I'm a "bibliotecario" on es wiki, and most of my work is local. However I am become acquainted about our global rename policy. Since some weeks ago, members of eswiki can request for a rename in a local page. [1] That's new. I remarked too that some spanish-speakers renamers lost their permissions and I saw this discussion [2]. Then, I consider I have enough experience to deal with users requesting renames in eswiki local page. Thank you for (re)considering my application.
- Support Support Very trusted sysop and 'crat on eswiki. Very actif, this user can be an excellent GR dealing with request in spanish, Jmvkrecords ⚜ (Intra talk) 20:38, 22 May 2017 (UTC).
- I don't see any work on rename-related areas, he is only most active on eswiki, is sysop and bureaucrat as well, but I don't see work in other wikis about renames, (for example, SRUC, or WP:CHUS on enwiki) or work on the local requests for rename on eswiki. Neutral for now.
(削除) Apparently also this user didn't specified a reason for this request. (削除ここまで)--Ks-M9 [disc.] 02:29, 23 May 2017 (UTC).

(削除) Oppose Oppose (削除ここまで)Neutral Neutral The global renamer permission requires cross-wiki work to be done in order for the rest of the users to know the user in question, the global rename tool is quite delicate and requires a lot of trust; In this case except the work that he does in Spanish Wikipedia like bureaucrat and administrator, and his contributions in Commons; I do not see much more.(削除) Neither has provided a reason, so I feel that the user still does not know the procedures that must be followed to be able to aspire to this permission. I urge the user to continue with his good work and in the future request again. I am requesting Global rename rights to assist with requests made both here and on English Wikipedia. I am very familiar with the Global rename policy. — Music1201 talk 17:17, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

Ks0stm (T•C•G•E) 00:04, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose Oppose Too little crosswiki experience. --Holder (talk) 08:52, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
- Neutral, because I don't see any work on rename-related areas and experience on any wiki about renames. For example, Ks-M9 [disc.] 12:39, 14 June 2017 (UTC).
- Comment Comment A lot of people seem to support or oppose based on cross-wiki experience. I know this should be a discussion for elsewhere, but I personally feel that cross-wiki experience has nothing (or at least, very little) to do with global renaming. Global renames, for the most part, happen automatically; there is no need for the renamer to manually go to every single wiki and mash a button repeatedly to rename a user. The biggest thing we ought to look at is 1) Is the user trusted to have the global rename tool?; and 2) Are they familiar with the global rename field? That being said, while Music1201 appears to meet the first point, I don't see much about the second. Remember that I had little cross-wiki experience when I became global renamer two years ago, but I attained trust and experience through patiently clerking w:en:WP:CHUS (And honestly, I was doing it for fun; it would never have crossed my mind back then that soon I would be the one doing the renames). I encourage Music1201 to gain some experience in this area by clerking the request pages, since that's one of the best ways you can demonstrate that you understand the process and the policies. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 13:14, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
