Global rollback for Simeondahl
- Global user: Simeondahl (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA )
- Hey. I request for "global rollback" because I removes some vandalism with the standard tools, but I will often walk past pages that I have not been put it on. I have some experience with the removal of vandalism and other Wikimedia projects. It would be easier to have it as standard on all projects. I think I have enough experience and suitable to be, granted it. I can easily use it I use now, but it's still nice to have it, as I said, to standard. Hope I did not express myself well enough :) Greetings Simeondahl (talk) 13:15, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

- Oppose Not now You weren't active for month and came back to SWMT yesterday. I trust you to use this tool well and please stay active. Then GR will be granted quickly ;-) Vogone (talk) 13:56, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose Oppose You haven't been that active on the SWMT.--Jasper Deng (talk) 16:56, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
- & I was neutral in June but I feel this request is inappropriate. Your only activity revert-wise since August has been today, according to luxo. This is your third request, and it's not promising to see that you've been active only around the time you've run for this permission both in August and now, this is clearly the wrong attitude. Also, the statement above is not really addressing the concerns raised last two time around imo. Snowolf How can I help? 21:09, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
(削除) Now it's my turn to explain myself. I disagree with that I only active during my requests. It's nonsense. I have not been global asset because I have had some problems that stood in the way. If I could, so have I also been active. I've also active in many others, because I would not look as if I just want to have rights just to have them. I just surrendered my Rollback on Simple Wikipedia, just because I know I will not be using it for a long time. I request the privilege because it will help the work I do around the other Wikis. So no ... So I did not that you can call it "Inappropriate". But if that's what you think, so I suppose it is. --Simeondahl (talk) 22:57, 30 November 2012 (UTC) (削除ここまで)- Hello Snowolf. I am so sorry for what I said before. I dit mean a word. I trueley ergee about what you ware saying. I know if you think I am a idiot, and I am sometimes. I respect your desission trueley. Please forgive me. Greetings Simeondahl (talk) 00:27, 1 December 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose Oppose - More juvenile than your repeated requests for Global Rollback is your response to Snowolf. There is a stark difference between an appropriate and respectful response to someone who opposes your request and calling their opinion "nonsense." Your inactivity coupled with your rather apparent lack of maturity leads me to believe it would be inappropriate to grant you additional userrights. Tiptoety talk 23:39, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

Global rollback for Hazard-SJ
- Global user: Hazard-SJ (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA )
Again, I'm requesting global rollback (previous requests, all rejected: 1, 2, 3). I've been in the SWMT for over 2 years now, and I have been fairly active (in my opinion) recently, reverting edits and nominating pages for deletion (well...I know this part isn't relevant for gr). Hazard-SJ ✈ 01:14, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
- Fourth time's the charm I guess... Not impressed by the number of previous requests, but I think that you have enough experience at this point. Support. Ajraddatz (Talk) 01:22, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
- Neutral Neutral. I know he's trustworthy, however others voiced concerns about a past incident on testwiki in his Wikidata request for adminship.--Jasper Deng (talk) 02:29, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
- Support Support I think he's ready now and I trust him with rollback. Besides, GR isn't a big deal. πr2 (t • c) 02:45, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose Oppose - While "being active" is certainly a criteria for userrights (and a rather important one), it is not the only one. I am still left with a sour taste in my mouth from Hazard-SJ's rather blatant past attempts at hat collecting (as references above) as well as this incident on test-wiki. While I feel that rollback is no big deal, the issue with Global Rollback is that actions of the rollbacker are harder to monitor as they are taking place across multiple projects. As such, it requires a greater level of responsibility and I do not feel that Hazard-SJ has demonstrated that he has met that level. Tiptoety talk 02:47, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
- I'm believe that in many projects, if an admin does something and another admin, who is directly involved, undoes it without any discussion, there would be a problem. All I did was to undo the involved admin's revert and ask for discussion, then without even any discussion about my actions, my rights were removed. Hazard-SJ ✈ 03:50, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
- To be fair, the stuff at testwiki is completely unrelated (in my mind) to this user's ability to click the [rollback] button in multiple languages. While the hat collecting concern is a legitimate one, the entire point of that concern is that in requesting the rights for the wrong reasons, there is potential for misuse. There aren't any indications of this here, as I see it. This is only rollback we're talking about here, and giving the user the benefit of the doubt might be beneficial here. Ajraddatz (Talk) 04:01, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
- I wholly agree with Ajr. I fail to see how the stuff on testwiki has anything to do with global rollback. It's one button, imo the only concerns about gr should be activity and experience reverting vandalism across multiple projects and languages. Snowolf How can I help? 09:12, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

- Weak oppose. I am not impressed by his recent cross-wiki activity, which is IMO very limited. You have only edited ten different projects in the last week, these including enwiki, simplewiki, wikidatawiki and commonswiki. [1], [2], [3], [4], [5] & [6]. Six reverts in the last seven days make an average of less than a revert a day, and this could IMO easily be covered with global Twinkle or the undo. The fact that all but two of these edits in the last week were made today doesn't either give me much confidence in your long-term activity as a global rollbacker. However, you're crosswiki activity does not persuade me, so I agree with Savh as for this point. Once you will have reached a certain continuity, GR will be granted more easily to you. --Frigotoni ...i'm here; 21:30, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- Done Even though we don't base our decisions just on the votes, it's still important to mention imho. I counted 8 [weak] supports, 6 neutral votes and 4 [weak] opposes. Snowolf clearly stated that he considers global rollback not a big deal, but he didn't support nor oppose the candidate so I didn't count him in as a support. All together it's more than 66% support. The four opposes were because of allegedly hat collecting, an incident on testwiki which was also mentioned in his RfA on wikidata and the fact that he isn't very active thus doesn't need the rights. Hat collecting is always very hard to prove. The thing on testwiki had to do with his admin rights that he had. As global rollback doesn't contain any of the usual admin tools (see Global rollback#Userrights - he can only view abuse filters, but cannot create them and furthermore it's only rollback with autopatrol etc), it's really not important for this request as he never made any mistakes cross-wiki afaik. The activity is important though and I really hope that he'll be more active from now on. Good luck. Trijnstel talk 17:53, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
Global rollback for Makecat
- Global user: Makecat (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA )
Hello, I want to have global rollback rights since undoing function is inconvenient and my undos may trigger abusefilter without autoconfirmed identity. I have been on SWMT IRC channel for about four months, and joined it two months ago (actually, I forgot it). I am an sysop on zh.wikipedia and a sysop on a small wiki wuu.wikipedia (recently). I also have rollback rights on en.wikipedia and commons. Apart from monitoring small wikis, this tool can help me deal with cross-wiki spam or vandalism on other projects. Here are some reverts I made today: [7] [8] [9] [10]. Besides these, some edits requesting for speedy deletion are invisible. Thanks for expressing your views. --Make cat 12:42, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
- The user seems to have general experience with vandalism and seems also to be trustworthy. However, there is no very high activity in global anti-vandalism work. In benefit of the trust Support Support. Greetings, Vogone (talk) 14:35, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

Requests for global sysop permissions
Global sysop for PiRSquared17
- Global user: PiRSquared17 (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA )
Hello, I have been a member of the Small Wiki Monitoring Team (SWMT) for over two years. As evidence of my experience, you can check the "edits" or "crosswiki-ness" links above. Since joining, I have tagged many pages for deletion. Even though these edits are deleted and therefore aren't visible in Luxo's tool, you can check this page ("User statistics" section) to see that I have made many requests for speedy deletions, but most of the pages I tagged for deletion were not submitted there. I would like to request Global sysop rights so I don't need to bother GSs and stewards with as many requests. I would mostly use it to delete spam/vandalism/nonsense/test pages, but I would also use it to block vandals on wikis with no admins (or in emergency situations, on wikis with few admins) and to do other miscellaneous actions like the one on the bottom two lines of this section. (the reason this request was done so quickly was because I asked a GS to do it) Thank you for giving your opinions, πr2 (t • c) 03:25, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

- Global user: Dualitas (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA )
Because I publish political essays that oppose the current political system in my country and because of my work as a citizen journalist (now an illegal activity when you want to post about the president or any politician), I have been subjected to persecution from my ISP and some political groups acting in defense of a certain political party. To protect my privacy on the Internet, my documents and my communications with my family, I exclusively use in my computer the Tails operating system, which (among other security features) sends almost all connections through Tor. The only exception is a modified version of its web browser, which has allowed me to edit in Wikimedia projects. However, it is impossible to implement this exception in other applications, which prevents me from running the bot Dualitas on my personal computer. For safety reasons, I do not wish to switch my operating system, and yet I desire to continue operating freely Dualitas while using my own computer. The main task of Dualitas is spellcheck in various projects in Spanish, and I intend to operate it whenever I can in the years to come. Thank you. --Ral gis WM-CR 21:24, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
- Would you please send a copy of the block message that your bot receives to stewards@wikimedia.org. To also confirm that you are not also asking for block exemption of your main user account. — billinghurst sDrewth 04:44, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
- Done. Thank you. --Ral gis WM-CR 02:19, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

- Declined for a global exemption on principle of bots and tor are not a decision for stewards to make for local bots; please seek local exemptions through local discussions. Responded via OTRS. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:12, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

Global IP block exempt for BilCat

I primarily edit on EN:WP, and have encountered global blocks when I edit though Amazon's Web service (Silk browser). I asked an admin on ENWP (privately) to unblock me from ENWP, but he said that I should ask a steward. I rarely edit cross-wiki from Silk, but I may do so if the need arises. Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 03:40, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
- Template:Nao Notice: Actually, local IP block exempt also applies to global blocks. --Make cat 13:19, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, it doesn't. To be exempted from global blocks, the specific right
globalblock-exempt
is needed, and not included in the enwiki ipbe group. Unless this browser uses a TOR exit node blocked by the software, then this group is needed. Ajraddatz (Talk) 13:50, 7 December 2012 (UTC)- Seems legit, I'm fine with granting the flag. --Bencmq (talk) 06:02, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

Global IP block exempt for Diti
- Global user: Diti (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA )
Hello, I am currently a fr.wikipedia sysop. When I need to make edits through my sysop account, on unsecured networks, I use a VPN to log in and make edits. The VPN has been set up by myself, on my Kimsufi (OVH) server jennifer.poleheberg.com (or diti.me, or 178.33.248.44). I found out today that this OVH IP block has been banned. Would it be possible to unblock this particular IP (considering I am, for now, the only person who uses this server/particular IP to make edits)? Thank you kindly. – Diti the penguin — 11:11, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
- May I confirm which project/under what username did you encounter the block? You should not be affected by global blocks on frwiki with your sysop account. --Bencmq (talk) 12:18, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
- I was trying to edit a page on fr.wiktionary, found out that I was blocked, logged in to my Diti account (all this, while using my VPN connection). I, indeed, seem not to have this problem on frwiki as a sysop. But that is the only exception. Thanks for your attention! Diti the penguin — 20:51, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Global IP block exempt for Der Naturfreund
- Global user: Der Naturfreund (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA )
Logging in at my school is not possible. That IPs are blocked because of pupil's vandalism. I usually worked on WP at school, so I need IP block exemption to continue that work. Thanks, --Der Naturfreund (talk) 10:27, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- You haven't provided details of the block, or where you were trying to edit. From a check of your underlying IP address, I do not see that it is globally blocked. That would tend to indicate that you have a local issue, and a global exemption does not trump a local block. — billinghurst sDrewth 08:50, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
- Today, I'm logged in home.
Because I use more than on WP-Lanuage (de,en) and Wikidata, I need global IP block exempt. The IPs aof my school are blocked in all of this projects.--Der Naturfreund (talk) 22:43, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
Today, I asked my school's admin whether logging into WP is blocked by my school. He denied that.--Der Naturfreund (talk) 14:25, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
- If IP addresses of your school are locally blocked on all those projects then you will need to ask for local IP block exemptions. Global exemption works only for global blocks. Ruslik (talk) 18:35, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
Why you need this if you approach the school banned? If it's not allowed to go on Wikipedia it has no effect, because all that is there in Wikipedia under the school's forbidden. --Kolega2357 (talk) 23:02, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe you're right--Der Naturfreund (talk) 10:30, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
- Not done as not seen to be effected by a global block, so notig can be done from meta. Provided advice of how to progress for local wikis. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:42, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
