Content Partnerships Hub

Improving the Wikimedia movement’s work with content partners

Helpdesk

The Helpdesk will provide hands-on support to you when you are trying to form a content partnership, especially for local communities in the underserved and underrepresented communities.

The Helpdesk will respond to the needs that the actors within the movement request, when it comes to partnerships. If the Helpdesk team does not have the answers, the person who requested the help will be introduced to other experts within the Wikimedia movement.

The Helpdesk will be supported by an Expert Committee that will guide and prioritize the work of the Helpdesk.

We are running the first pilot version of the Helpdesk. Please get in touch with us at helpdesk(_AT_)wikimedia.se.

The process

We want the process to get help to be as easy as possible. You can reach out to us and request help by:

  • Sending an email to helpdesk(_AT_)wikimedia.se. The email does not have to follow any certain format, but you can read more on the subpages
  • Joining our monthly office hour at xx yy:zz
  • If you miss the office hour, drop us an email and we will schedule a meeting with you
  • Submitting a public request, read more here

The following pages can help you on the way. We look forward to hearing from you!

Content Upload Do you have data, images or other kinds of content that you want help to upload to the Wikimedia platforms?

The Helpdesk can help you with the content upload.

Policy-making and Advocacy Do you know of content that you would like to see on the Wikimedia platforms, but where the licensing does not match?

Do you live in a country where the copyright legislation stops you from getting content from partners to the Wikimedia platforms?

The Helpdesk can give you support, or connect you with people with expertise, when it comes to advocacy and policy-making, in relation to content partnerships.

Capacity Building – in the making –
? ?

Do you want to help and support others?

This is a team effort! The more experts contributing, the better the Helpdesk will work. Please read more about how you can engage on the involvement page.

Why a helpdesk?

Many people have requested help to get started to carry out partnerships. This was frequently highlighted during the development of the 2030 strategic recommendations. The Helpdesk will provide that practical help, and lower the barriers for all affiliates within the Wikimedia Movement who want to start working with content partnerships – no matter where they are on the journey.
