Call an Action in a controller when user clicks a button in View

Let us assume you have a button in your view whose id is 'authorizeButton' and you want to submit to your Action named 'Authorize' in your controller named 'SandboxApi'. To call the Authorize action in the SandboxApiController when the user clicks the button, you can follow these steps:

1. Add a JavaScript/jQuery click event handler to the button in your view.

    $('#authorizeButton').click(function() {
    // Perform an AJAX call to the Authorize action
    $.ajax({
    url: '@Url.Action("Authorize", "SandboxApi")',
    type: 'GET',
    success: function(data) {

    },
    error: function(xhr, status, error) {
    // Handle the error response if needed
    console.log('Error: ' + error);
    }
    });
    });
    });
   </script>

   Replace #authorizeButton with the actual ID or selector of your button element.

2. Implement the Authorize action in the SandboxApiController.

   public class SandboxApiController : Controller
   {
    // GET: SandboxApi/Authorize
    public IActionResult Authorize()
    {
    // Perform the necessary logic for authorization
    // Return a success response or appropriate result
    return Ok();
    }
   }
   

   Replace SandboxApi with the appropriate controller name if needed.

When the user clicks the button, the AJAX call will be made to the Authorize action in the SandboxApiController. You can handle the authorization logic within the action and return an appropriate result based on the requirements of your application.
