awk in Mac OS X

By: Strauss K in macos Tutorials on 2011年02月03日 [フレーム]

awk is a powerful command-line tool for text processing and data manipulation in Unix and Unix-like systems, including macOS. It allows you to search for specific patterns and perform various operations on the input data.

Here are some basic examples of using awk in Mac OS X:

Print the contents of a file:

awk '{print}' file.txt

Print only the first column of a file (using space as the delimiter):

awk '{print 1ドル}' file.txt

Print only lines containing a specific pattern:

awk '/pattern/{print}' file.txt

Print the number of lines in a file:

awk 'END {print NR}' file.txt

Calculate the sum of the values in the second column of a file:

awk '{sum += 2ドル} END {print sum}' file.txt

These are just a few examples of what you can do with awk. It's a very powerful tool, and there are many more advanced features and options available.
