What I thought was that "目糞鼻糞を笑う" derives from the Japanese equivalent of the English idiom [[:en:pot calling the kettle black]], which is a very common everyday thing to say in the English language. I obtained "目糞鼻糞を笑う" from [[wikt:en:pot calling the kettle black]], believing it to be a translation of the English phrase, and I was unaware that it would have any negative connotations in the Japanese language. Also, [[wikt:ja:目糞鼻糞を笑う]] does not say anything like ''"Warning: This phrase is rude, don't use it"'' or anything similar, so I did not know that it was considered rude. I also apologise for this mistake.

Statement by User:Benlisquare
I will explain myself now then. I will try to be short and concise as possible, however I can only do so in English, because my skill in Japanese is not good.
- Firstly, I find it rather unfair that I have not been given a single warning, yet I am to be blocked indefinitely. First I was blocked for three days without warning, and during this period I have been unable to communicate to everyone here. Then, I have not done anything wrong after the 3 day block, and now I am to be blocked indefinitely? I do not understand the reason for this.

Old post by 137.219.192.67 from here that sums up my earlier opinions
- Comment: User:Benlisquare has voiced his concern that he was not adequately allowed to voice his opinion. Because of this, he feels unfairly treated by the ja.wikipedia community. Now, I do have a relation to User:Benlisquare in real life; namely, I am a friend of his, and go to the same university; I am also a contributor to the English Wikipedia that prefers not to get myself too involved into this situation; however, who I am is irrelevant. What I would like to do is relay a message, from him, to this discussion.
List of opinions
- Opinion 1: The reported user has not even been given a warning, yet he was blocked for three days. And now there is discussion that he is to be blocked indefinitely (無期限), when he hasn't done anything wrong afterwards? What is the reason for this?
- Opinion 2: The event that seems to be at the centre of controversy has already passed for a very long time; it has been many days since this has happened. Does the ja.wikipedia community believe that a block almost a week after the event is justified? Does it change anything at all, and does it make a positive contribution towards the project?
- Opinion 3: User:Benlisquare has very little skill in Japanese, as you may be aware. His quote "目糞鼻糞を笑う" derives from the Japanese equivalent of the English idiom en:pot calling the kettle black, which is a very common everyday thing to say. He obtained the translation from wikt:en:pot calling the kettle black, and is unaware of any negative connotations it may or may not have in the Japanese language. What he intended to mean was that it was very hypocritical of User:HighSpeed-X to make such claims, when he himself is not exempt from wrongdoing as well.
- Opinion 4: The original allegation reads "および執拗に中国側からの観点のみの執筆および編集を各国語版で行なっています。" User:Benlisquare states that this allegation is wrong: having a look at his user contributions, he has made no edits whatsoever that can be considered as CPOV. All his edits on the Japanese Wikipedia have nothing to do with Chinese politics, but rather correcting Chinese and English names, and fixing language-related errors and mistakes on ja.wikipedia. The only controversial edits at hand are regarding to his talk page, and he has already apologised and displayed regret for his actions at here.
- Opinion 5: This user believes that he has a difficult time conveying his message across to the ja.wikipedia community, due to language reasons. He himself uses machine translation to read Japanese, as his knowledge of the Japanese language is very basic. He is also aware that many of you may be unable to correctly understand his words. Because of such misunderstandings, he may be unfairly viewed and treated by an overwhelmingly Japanese community that may possibly be misinterpreting his words.
- Opinion 6: Whilst User:Benlisquare's use of profanity on his own talk page may be wrong, based on the fact that they can be considered uncivil and rude, to me it seems that User:HighSpeed-X was more or less asking for it. HighSpeed-X has repeatedly spammed many of Benlisquare's cross-wiki talk pages, despite requests for him to stop. Additionally, many of these messages were politically-sensitive in nature, which caused him to feel angry. For example, refer to "黄河決壊事件をご存知ですか?". I don't expect many of you to understand, but imagine if someone kept messaging you, repeatedly saying "Japan is a bad country, Japan killed many people in World War II, Japan commits war crimes". How would you feel? Wouldn't you feel upset and angry? Now, let's have a look at User:Benlisquare's situation - someone has repeatedly made political comments - should not he feel upset?
- Opinion 7: User:Benlisquare is a well-established user on the English Wikipedia, and is well-respected among his peers. Having a look at his user contributions justifies this view. He means the Japanese Wikipedia project no harm, he means Japanese people no harm (as opposed to User:HighSpeed-X's claims that he is CPOV). Is it really fair if the community here overlooks this person mainly due to one tiny incident that happened? And this incident doesn't even have anything to do with the content of the Japanese Wikipedia.
