The 2020s are a decade that began with a global pandemic, shutting down in-person meetups like IndieWebCamps and Homebrew Website Club meetups, inspiring the growth of virtual meetups and pop-ups as a replacement, until availability of vaccines and dropping infection rates enabled cautious restarting of IndieWebCamps starting in Düsseldorf in November 2021, and slowly restarting other cities and adding San Diego in 2023.
