I am brand new to Drupal, and I, and my partner are creating a social media website. I've studied a bunch of videos at youtube on Drupal, and have found them very helpful. However, I now have a stick in the spokes! I've learned how to upload and enable a module from the Drupal.org site to my Drupal site, (Btw, I'm using Drupal 7.19, and am cognizant to look for Drupal 7 version stuff) and all indications are that it is successful.

• Facilitated a drupal meetup with 2 speakers at Smartspace in Singapore. This was the first time we used the venue and the feedback was positive to neutral with a few people saying they preferred the old venue. Kiat Lim presented about Omega, Zen and adaptive theming and Ardianto Pratomo presented about Commerce Kickstart.
• Followed up discussions in the "Connecting Drupal travelers and locals" group (http://groups.drupal.org/connecting-drupal-travelers-and-locals)
• Submitted the group for moderation

Title says it all really, along with last minute http://BADCampUK.net organising I'm writing a module to integrate with a 3rd party service via JSON. Would love to swap notes with anyone who's done similar!

Today (probably yesterday by the time I hit send!) has been a long day of organising our Brighton Area Drupal Association BAD Ass Drupal Weekender which is happening a week Friday, plus crunching videos from DrupalCon BoFs and continuing discussions on the Marketing of Drupal, more on that topic later!

Today I had a bit of a crack at Commerce coupons.

They actually work really well! As with anything commerce related, the whole thing is so well thought out that it takes a few minutes before you can catch up with their trail of thought, but after a while of battling through rules and workflows I found myself with a couple of basic coupons working. And only then did I discover commerce_coupon_pct and commerce_coupon_fixed_amount. Looking at the code for these modules it probably would have taken 5 minutes to work out what took an hour without them.

I need to do some work on Views data export to reduce the bug count and generally clean it up. We're targeting a new release at the end of the week.

Well thought I'd contribute to today's entry :). Currently working on Drupal Savvy, a dedicated Drupal careers site. We have the core version up and running under closed Beta (currently only inviting UK Drupalers and employers before we open it up).

Today I've mostly been tidying up the marketing group home page, highlighting four topics we are currently canvassing for views on:

• What is it that Drupal does so well?
• Who are our "mindset" competitors that we need to overcome?
• Who are Drupal's competitors and what do they do particularly well?
• Who is Drupal's target group? What are their demographics? Psychographics?

Protests such as those in the Arabic world, Democracy Real Ya! and the Occupy Wall Street movement emerge because the citizens are not sufficiently included in the political process. Wiki9999 would like to reduce the split between politics and the citizenry. The goal of Wiki9999.org is to create the technical foundation for "We are the 99.99%".

I've just had a meeting discussing performance issues of an old D6 website with some query-crazyness inside. Need to test several hosting options in order to face soon-to-come traffic peaks.

Today I shall be doing a stable release of the Views content cache and also then doing some payment gateway integration for a clients site.

Sorry. I know that's not like hook-altering stuff but as a marketing guy I felt pretty happy about not crashing d.o or something. ;)

After tidying up the DrupalBAM ('Drupal Branding And Marketing') group homepage and structure last night I saw the conversation had started to flow so today, after getting my own personal chores and meetings out of the way, I caught up on the conversation.

This evening I have started a Touch Icons 7.x-2.x branch. There's not much to see in code yet; I just forked my 7.x-1.x and added a bunch of @todo comments for myself. It's a start.

The module has gained a lot of users this year, since being featured in Lullabot's Module Monday series, and I'm trying to be a more responsibel contrib maintainer. If you haven't tried the Touch Icons module yet, take 7.x-1.x for a spin.

The goal for 7.x-2.x is to add support for the bewildering number of icon formats that iOS devices now support. Hope to have something ready for you soon...
