Time again for our monthly meetup. It will be held on the 11th floor of the Walker Center (Walker Center, 200 S. Main St., Salt Lake City, UT). Signs will be placed to direct you on how to get up to the conference room we will be in. You can park in the Walker Center parking garage (it will cost about 4ドル) or at the Carl's Jr. (if you purchase something). If you ride TRAX you can get off at the Gallivan Center station (the Walker Center is about a block north of that station). Both the Sandy (blue) and West Valley (greeen) lines go to this station.

Last week at the meeting, I took a few minutes to discuss the Organizing Committee for Drupal Camp Utah 2012. Here's the gist of the discussion.

I've identified a few of the areas that we could use volunteers in the committee:

Time for our August DUG Meetup. This will be the Salt Lake group but everyone is welcome to come.

It will be held on the 11th floor of the Walker center in the conference room. I'm told that you can enter from the retail space. We can also gather at an entrance and have someone there to let us in. I'm working with j_ten_man on the details for that. We will have food available but a decision on what has not yet been made.

Meetup Organization

Posted by tyjamessmith on July 11, 2011 at 3:11pm

We had a great first DrupalCamp Utah this last weekend. We were small in number but had a great opportunity to share what we've done and what we've learned. I wanted to once again thank WebWise and Western Governors University as our Gold sponsors and those who traveled from SanDiego, Las Vegas and Colorado to support our own here in Utah.

At the end of camp we had a discussion about what we could do to make camp better in the future. Two suggestions came out of that conversation that I wanted to emphasize.

Organizers

Posted by joshuabud on July 9, 2011 at 12:24am

I would like to be added as a group Organizer. I apparently need to visit the group page more often because the post about turnout was the first I read about the Utah Drupal Camp.

Last year I made two Out of state trips to California for BADCamp and SANDCamp which I helped facilitate Drupal in a Day training along with Jen Lampton and ChapterThree. I feel a training like this would have been well received.

Also events such as annual camps should be planned with well more than 1 months notice so major companies and other sponsors have an opportunity to both support and attend.

DrupalCamp Help needed

Posted by tyjamessmith on June 13, 2011 at 5:34pm

I have been trying to get things organized but church has made things a little difficult. I have been asked to work with the youth in our ward which has taken a busy schedule and made it crazy. In the last week I have had all of 3 evenings of free time and tomorrow I'm taking them camping in Zion for the week.

Anyone who is willing or able I would appreciate your help. Things that need doing:

Drupal and Checkstyle

Posted by davad on May 31, 2011 at 5:40pm

I'm working on integrating Jenkins with my development workflow, and I want to use Jenkin's checkstyle plugin to make sure my code follows drupal's coding standards. Is there a checkstyle configuration out there already for drupal's coding standards?

Any Suggestions?

Posted by tyjamessmith on May 17, 2011 at 10:36pm

I was asked by my boss to look for a good company with a strong emphasis in user experience, lean generation, site testing, and visual design. I know there are a lot of companies that work in visual design or user experience but we would also like someone who could understand the lead generation process for an online university and what are the practices. Frankly the mindset of a person looking to go back to school (that is the largest portion of our students) is different for that experienced buying a book.

DrupalCamp Site

Posted by tyjamessmith on May 13, 2011 at 2:49pm

The base of the site is configured. I will be adding more information as it becomes available but I wanted to invite the local community to register and share any problems, concerns, or suggestions before I spread the word with Colorado, Las Vegas, and San Diego. Are tehre any other communities that we should specifically notify. Colorado and San Diego have asked to be notified and it seems silly to notify San Diego without also notifying Las Vegas.

DrupalCamp UT 2011 Site

Posted by tyjamessmith on April 13, 2011 at 4:17am

I know we got such a great raise of hands fighting to build the site. To avoid anyone having it forced upon then, I am will to build it. I do feel I should clarify a few things and offer three opportunities to help without having to build the site. Opportunity 1) I am not a designer, if any one would be willing to mock up the site I will put it together.

Anyone had any experience with the Salesforce module that wants to help out with something. Some quick cash could be available here. Let me know.

It's pretty much just the basics that I need, but specifics can be available if needed.

April Meetup

Posted by jtsnow on March 23, 2011 at 11:55pm

Digitaria would be happy to host a Drupal meetup in April. Our offices are in downtown SLC at the Walker Center (175 South Main Street). We'd like to propose Tuesday, April 12th as the date. Digitaria's Director of Technology, Chuck Phillips, will be in town and is looking forward to getting in touch with the local Drupal community. Chuck is also willing to give a presentation on some of the things we do with Drupal and Amazon Web Services (see Amazon's case study: http://aws.amazon.com/solutions/case-studies/digitaria/).

Drupalcamp Utah in summer 2011?

Posted by greggles on February 22, 2011 at 9:24pm

Hey folks,

I've been chatting with Jason Hill a bit about this and he encouraged me to post here. I'd like to encourage the Utah group to have a Drupalcamp this summer.

If you don't already know, the goal of Drupalcamps is twofold: first it provides a learning opportunity for people new to Drupal and second it provides a place where experienced Drupallers can meet in person to share ideas.
