DUG Meetings

Posted by jeremyr on March 31, 2012 at 3:36pm

I want to gather some information from the group about the DUG meetings. My hope is to see where we can improve and/or change to increase participation at each meeting.

Currently, we have the meeting the second Thursday evening of every month. If we changed the day of the week or the week we have the meeting, would you be more likely to attend? What days of the week work better? Would a weekend be better?

Drupal Camp Utah Venue

Posted by jeremyr on March 28, 2012 at 12:25pm

I'm still working on finding a location to hold our camp. The last place that was suggested was the Downtown Salt Lake Library. They do offer spaces for free, however, we apparently don't qualify. To host it there it's going to cost us about 250ドル for the day and we can't sell tickets or promote products and services there. If we pay more, then we can what ever we want. However, I wanted to do what I can to keep the event low cost or free, since that was the general feeling around the group.

Looking for a D7 module or tool to email invitations to events

Posted by rtvWebServicesL... on March 26, 2012 at 3:04pm

Hello all!
Hope those of you who managed to get to Drupalcon had a great time. I'm looking forward to hearing about your experiences at our next meeting.

I am looking for a way to send invitations to events when I add them to a calendar. I've created an "Event" content type that populates a calendar. It would be really helpful when adding an event if I could:
1. Select registered site members to send the invitation to, and
2. Enter email addresses in a field and have notification sent to these people as well.

Any ideas on how to make this happen in D7?

Thanks in advance!

Todd V

Should we skip the March meetup?

Posted by j_ten_man on March 2, 2012 at 2:35am

I am not going to be available to host the Drupal meetup next Thursday during our normal time. I propose we skip March since Drupalcon is in just a couple of weeks and I know several people are going to it. I'm open to other ideas as well.

We Need Beta Testers

Posted by jeremyr on February 3, 2012 at 6:43pm

Hello all!

We are looking for some help in testing out a new website product. We've created an automated process where people can sign up for a trial website. After signup a site is created. Then, the user can log in and do all the stuff we love about Drupal from a custom "Dashboard".

What we are looking for is the usual:

  • identifying any bugs in the normal use of the site
  • improving user experience
  • flow and ease of use
  • and general feedback is always welcome

Need Feedback

Posted by mohhess on January 21, 2012 at 10:32pm

So, this website (www.symbolicsilver.com) has been my latest project. I'm still tweaking things and if you have a second, I'd appreciate it if you could give me some feedback on it. Any bugs you see in your browser, or things that would look better if done differently. Let me know what browser and version you are using if you reply. Reply here, or email (symbolicsilver@gmail.com). Thanks so much!

Site planning: check-off sheet?

Posted by rtvWebServicesL... on January 19, 2012 at 3:59pm

All,
When meeting with a client who wants to build a new website, or update an existing one, do any of you use any kind of list or check-off sheet? What questions do you ask? I am meeting with our Director tomorrow to discuss creating interest-based sites for groups here at the University of Utah, and would appreciate any suggestions you have for creating a basic list of questions to ask, etc. Feel free to email me directly as well as post here, and thanks!

Drupal Camp Utah 2012

Posted by jeremyr on January 13, 2012 at 4:20am

I meant to bring the topic up at the meeting tonight.

It's time to start thinking about Drupal Camp Utah 2012. We need to get a date set and I wanted to get feed back from everyone to see your thoughts on having the event around the same time this year. Last year we had it the 3rd week of June. I'd also like to get the date of the event finalized in the next 2 weeks so we can start working on venues, sponsors, and guest speakers.

DUG meeting topics?

Posted by jeremyr on January 6, 2012 at 4:38am

Yesterday Tyler was asking in IRC what we'd like to talk about this coming week. Since not everyone is on IRC I thought I'd bring it up here.

Is there something anyone wants to show off? Or anything anyone wants to learn about?

The workshops will be held at:
