Theme development

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

This is a special interest group dedicated to improving and expanding the Drupal theme system including theme functions and templates, CSS, markup, and how contrib modules add in their functions, CSS, and markup.

for example, we'll take stock of the location and number of CSS files and discuss if the architecture can be improved through emerging frameworks like Object Oriented CSS.

We will consider the questions "What do themers need from Core in terms of CSS? Module developers? SEO specialists?" and "What's new in CSS? What does Drupal support? What's the roadmap for CSS support?"

Photographic Blog homepage: Is there Drupal module that can do this?

Posted by Aleet on September 4, 2013 at 12:13am

This site's http://www.tamariskrtw.com/ homepage is displaying nodes chronologically using images from the latest posts. The mouseover displays summary text. Clean and dramatic design for a image-intensive blog site. But also appears to be a sluggish.

Already checked. Not a drupal site.

Is there a drupal module that can approximate this? This would be godsend for photographers and/or travelers posting constantly.

Style Manager

Posted by podarok on May 15, 2013 at 3:37pm

Just reviewed a lot of code here
http://drupal.org/node/1995514

Look at video presentation. Impressive work.
Yet one review or possibly just sandbox->project conversion will be apreciated.
The code looks good, all standards and no nitpicks after a few styling commits in sandbox from author.

Thanks for help.

Removing region and position from block theming

Posted by effulgentsia on April 12, 2013 at 3:01pm

In Drupal 7, not only do you have region.tpl.php in which there's ample opportunity to customize wrapper markup around blocks, you are also able to override block markup on a per-region basis via a block--REGION_NAME.tpl.php file, as well as alter any block variable based on $region within your THEME_NAME_preprocess_block() function.
