Search doesn't index comments subject to node access

Posted by bhammond@colora... on June 15, 2016 at 2:32pm

I'm hoping some local colleagues (and more skilled developers) can offer some advice on this problem.

Have any of you run across this problem: "Search does not index comments subject to node access" https://www.drupal.org/node/1396534.

There is a patch that seems to work--at least it resolved the problem on my Drupal 7 site. But this seems like a big enough problem that it's surprising there isn't more talk about it online, and that the patch hasn't been incorporated into an update. Is there some more obvious fix that I'm overlooking?

Add Comment Types Within a Single Comment Thread Drupal 8

Posted by kevinschmidt on June 8, 2016 at 1:11am

Using comments can be very useful for collaboration. However, additional functionality is still needed for my intended purposes.

Is it possible to include different comment types within a single comment thread?

Within a single comment thread, different comment types will be marked with Icon Images preceding each comment so they will be easily recognized by the users.

Examples:

Image Icon | Image Comment
File Icon | File Comment
Text Icon | Text Comment

Thinking of enabling comments

Posted by chaslinux on October 24, 2014 at 3:54pm

I've been thinking about enabling comments on my Drupal-based blog (which is low traffic but has been around a long time). Until this point I had user-accounts disabled in order to prevent spam-bots from creating a lot of accounts. Several years ago I opened the flood gates and at one point there were as many as 30 accounts/day created by spam-bots. Even with captchas and Mollum spammers still seemed to find a way to sign up. I'm wondering what modules or processes group members are using on their site to combat the tide of spam. Cheers and thanks!

Drag and drop inline images

Posted by toemaz on September 20, 2013 at 7:30am

Attaching images to comments on github.com is a delightful experience. Select multiple images through the file dialog or simply by dragging it into the comment textarea, and they will get uploaded and posted in the comment using an inline filter.

We could make this possible as well on drupal.org extending the core file upload for nodes, or the comment_upload module for comments, and leveraging the inline filter.

Any ideas how i can add comments field in custom displays other than default and full content

Posted by bonchak on October 16, 2012 at 8:10pm

Hi,

I've created some custom display types. I want to show up comments in different displays other than default or full display. So i enable commenting but hide comments filed in full content and deafult display. I would like to add the comments in my custom displays but the field is missing? Any ideas?

Minipanels and comments --- possible?

Posted by Luki_be on March 17, 2012 at 3:35am

Hi all,

On my products page i have a block that shows up above the comments/commentform. Now i'm looking for a way to move the comments and form above that block but since they are 'hard coded' it seems impossible without hacking ... i tried using minipanels but it seems they are not possible to add as content ... is that correct or am i missing something?

Media module and comments on individual media entities

Posted by rakke on December 8, 2010 at 2:13pm

Hi,
I've started to test the new media module (beta 2) and must say that this looks very promising.
But I can't figure out how to enable comments on individual media entities in the gallery. Is this possible, or is this still not implemented?

cheers,

Jørgen

dofollow creation

Posted by benkerch on July 9, 2010 at 2:35pm

I'm using acquia slate theme for my website. I also have drupal core and fusion as well. for the blog portion of my site, i'm trying to make it dofollow for the comments portion of it. Whenever i submit a blog, i make sure i DO NOT check 'nofollow' so the google spiders will crawl it. when i went to test the comments portion of it, i noticed that there is no place to submit a url to share some backlink love. Any suggestions? I do have a captcha as to eliminate spam, and i monitor the site closely.

Kommentarer inaktiveras av sig själv.

Posted by jocken on June 29, 2010 at 2:08pm
