MERCI Master Inventory Sync Slow Going

Posted by stefanwray on September 15, 2010 at 3:48pm

We have a lot of resources and equipment here at channelAustin: a variety of microphones, light kits, cameras, 3 studios, and more. Just the checkout gear alone has added up to about 95 content types for MERCI. This includes both buckets and resources for singular items like the Conference Room, Main Studio, or Glide Cam. It has taken our staff a long time to clean up our data that's been housed in Facil. Before doing an import into MERCI, we wanted it to be in the best shape.

Issue Importing Content Into om_project

Posted by coderdan on September 1, 2009 at 11:26pm

I'm trying to import some 'project' content into Drupal using Node Import. I have about 3,000 projects that need to be added as om_project content types, and this was the method described by Kevin to get it done.

raSANTIAGO scripts: stuck on something

Posted by lbourn on August 24, 2009 at 5:09pm

I'm trying to deal w/ script "2_person_groups.sql" and I'm having a devil of a time getting through parts of this one (and I'm sure it'll happen again later on too).

I don't understand why there's a line CONCAT("Facil import: tblPerson.PersonID=", PersonID) AS description, -- it seems to me that this pulls in a user ID number from a member and uses it as the group description. But that line makes sense in a subsequent script, so I think it might be an error due to copy and paste.

Also, the script doesn't work, at least for me at Boston.

Facl & CiviCRM YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS

Posted by stefanwray on August 8, 2009 at 2:31pm

raSANTIAGO's scripts for importing data into CiviCRM from original Facil data are working very well. (See: http://groups.drupal.org/node/23535) So far, I've only had to make a few modifications to the code. Especially pleased with the scripts for pulling Facil's Class data into CiviCRM's Event tables. raSANTIAGO developed these scripts for Portland Community Media and released them as open source code available to anyone in the Public Access community involved with migrating away from Facil to an open source database environment (particularly MySQL).

Correct way to set up CiviCRM for Facil data import?

Posted by stefanwray on July 28, 2009 at 3:10pm

On a PC at channelAustin, I established a new instance of CiviCRM on Ubuntu Server (8.04) and Drupal (6.13). The install has a separate civicrm database. The purpose of this is to have an environment other than our active development server for which to migrate data from Facil to CiviCRM. (See: http://groups.drupal.org/node/23535). It was recommended by several people to set up this separate environment. At this point, however, it's not clear to me what is the best way to replicate the civicrm database that is currently associated with the development site (or whether that is necessary).

channelAustin Open Media System Integration Diagram

Posted by stefanwray on June 29, 2009 at 2:04am

I've attached a diagram of channelAustin's Open Media System integration for purposes of sharing how we are integrating Open Media tools with our Synergy Broadcast System. Diagram indicates the three environments - Linux (Ubuntu), Windows, and Mac - and shows the pathways between workstations, encoders, servers, and archive.

The red line indicates a pathway that is incomplete as of this writing.

PCM Scheduling Rules for Individual, Series, and Filler Programs

Posted by Jacoby on March 25, 2009 at 11:05pm

Portland Community Media, in partnership with Denver Open Media, has created documents explaining the rules of scheduling Producer> Project> Programs. The document includes rules for series programs, scheduled on a quarterly basis, as well as individual programs that get scheduled on a first come, first served basis.

I have also included rules on how PCM schedules filler programs.

The focus of this discussion is:
- to communicate current scheduling rules and guidelines
- to discuss other methods of annual, quarterly or daily scheduling rules used by other media centers
