channelAustin Facil Use

At channelAustin we primarily use Facil for the following:

• Producer data
• Project data
• Class schedule data
• Producer training certification data
• Equipment reservations
• Equipment inventory
• Financial transaction data
• Programming data

Facil has a programming interface with Synergy

At CMAP we use Facil for:
Person records
Project data
Class scheduling
Training Certification
Equipment inventory
Equipment reservations
Financial transactions

We do not use Facil to keep track of programming, or to schedule programming for broadcast. All of that is done through Synergy VLM.

At PCAC (Pasadena Community Access Corp.):
All volunteer crew & producers are entered in facil, Projects are entered and the equipment is scheduled. No financial stuff to my knowledge. We only recently instituted a membership fee. We never really made full use of the software, because noone has ever had the time or inclination to really dig into it. Our channel is run from Leightronix nexus.

I just built a XAMPP server on a W2k machine with a Drupal 6.6 install and want to mover from Facil to a browser based model.

We are getting very close to the first release of MERCI. I've rewritten a few discussions that have happened over email and posted them to the discussion here...

Open Media Project development partners can find more information about how we got to where we are at with MERCI in the logs of the #drupal-openmedia IRC channel at http://om.civicpixel.com/.

If there are features you have to have to move your checkouts from Facil to MERCI, we need to discuss those soon and determine how/when those features will be added.
