Can I use existing Drupal users/logins with Open Atrium? LDAP?

Posted by wheretoplaygames on September 27, 2016 at 2:54pm

Never heard of LDAP until today.

This will be my first Drupal project in 10 years and my first Open Atrium project ever.

The company has an existing public Drupal 7 site and would like to create a separate Open Atrium intranet. Can I use the existing Drupal logins for the new OA2 intranet?

Is LDAP where I should be looking?

Using LDAP for automated login

Posted by David Dubya on October 6, 2015 at 11:01am

Does anyone have experience configuring the LDAP module for automatic login?

We are running Drupal 7.39 on IIS 8.5, MSSQL all on Windows 2012 servers. I can authenticate users with LDAP via manual login, and create new users, all no problem. But when we enable LDAP SSO and turn on automated single sign-on we loose access with the server.

The LDAP SSO module says we need to setup LDAP authentication on the web server. Other than configuring IIS for Windows Authentication, what else should be done?

And what are the Authentication Mechanisms set on the LDAP SSO form?

I am looking at OA2 for our intranet and one of the things I am coming across is integrated windows authentication. I downloaded an LDAP module and after doing that I can access a login page and login with my windows credentials. However, I am looking at couple of things and would like input on how I can achieve them

openScholar sites restriction from LDAP groups.

Posted by EricST on October 6, 2011 at 6:58pm

Hello,

I successfully installed openScholar with ldap authentication enabled and all our ldap groups are mapped to drupal roles (ldap_integration and extended_ldap_groups modules).
Now I have a few dozens ldap groups as drupal roles and I'd like to allow access to openScholar sites to selected groups.

For instance, a teacher creates a new site for his course. He wants to allow access to the site only to students registered to his course (these students are members of the ldap group for this course).

Working with CAS Attributes at UC Berkeley

Posted by aasarava on October 5, 2011 at 11:47pm

I'm hoping some of you who have experiencing using CAS and CAS Attributes on UC Berkeley sites can help me with a couple questions about ideal setup:

I've got the modules set up and can see LDAP attributes, but there aren't any available CAS attributes. Is that normal? I'm using auth-test.berkeley.edu and ldap-test.berkeley.edu.

Also, what's the best way to deal with the fact that you don't always get an email address in the LDAP attributes? Do you just leave the user email field blank when new accounts are created? (Or maybe there's an email in my missing CAS attributes?)

Thanks!

LDAP management from PHP

Posted by -redShadow- on October 29, 2010 at 8:50am

Let's discuss about ways to connect to LDAP and handle entries from PHP.
I see that the trend is to write classes based on core PHP ldap_* functions. The obvious problem is that each module does in its own way.

Now, I think that the right way will be to manage all the "low level" stuff inside the ldap module, and then use its exposed APIs to do all the stuff higher-level.
I had a quick read at that module code, and I see you are writing brand new LDAP management classes.

What about, instead, using something already written?

ldap_integration and ldap_provisioning next-generation test

An informative note to all the ldap-related modules maintainers.

I am working (I am half the way to the goal, ATM) to a "next-generation" version of the ldap integration and provisioning modules, to fit some of the needs of the company I work for.
These needs are mostly the management of multiple entries types, not only persons, and improved functionality in entries management.

The needs
