Posted by mackh on October 17, 2012 at 10:43pm

Hi Everyone

Just putting it out there that we should have a BoF for Geo Tools. There's a lot of new developments with geo tools and it would be awesome to share our collective progress and problems.

I'll put it up on the board, hoping we can have it on Saturday.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Propuesta de charla sobre temas geo

Posted by xurxosanz on September 12, 2012 at 8:22am

Include the full OL js library on a node

Posted by SidneyGijzen on June 27, 2011 at 8:07pm

Hi group!

I've been reading quite a lot in this group lately, since I've been working on building a geo-enabled (D6) site in Drupal. I've had a look at several modules, however due to future functionalities (e.g. WFS filters) and high amount of geodata to mapped and linked, I've decided to go with the native OL library.

My basic problem is that I'm not able to include the OL library on a node. I've tried the following options:

OpenLayers Module Parting Note

Posted by tmcw on May 27, 2011 at 8:02pm

Hey OpenLayers Module users & developers,

So, you probably have heard that Development Seed isn't doing Drupal for products or projects anymore - it's been quite a few months since I've actually started up Drupal.

OpenDataKit

Posted by naught101 on April 8, 2011 at 4:04am

Anyone seen http://opendatakit.org ?
Allows you to create xml forms, and fill them out on an android smart phone. The data can then be sent to any server. The project has software for building forms (web-based), filling them out (android app), and a sever for data collection.

Data can include photos, geo-locations, text, selects, email addresses, etc. The forms are pretty customisable, and it seems easy to make optional and repeatable components (eg. for a family survey, add as many "children" form components made up of other form components as you need).

Posted by Mosen on March 24, 2011 at 6:37pm

the idea is to launch a website which is a social network of environmental activists, Main feature of this social network would be th e possibility of reporting environmental issue and geotagging these contents in a way that could generate geographical RSS feed from them or a geographical newsletter which would be sent to activist in the same area...

Exploring large sets of geodata on the web

Posted by R.J. Steinert on November 3, 2010 at 6:37pm

I'm interested in discussing various setups and techniques for exploring large sets of geodata on the web. For starters, I imported the entire dataset of US postal codes into Drupal (as nodes) to see what limitations I could find using the OpenLayers module. The OpenLayers module uses the Views module to assemble datasets and output them to a user's browser where it is then rendered using the OpenLayers javascript mapping library.

How to maintain GMap location and zoom when navigating back

Posted by altrugon on October 18, 2010 at 10:14pm

I apologize in advance for duplication but I also posted this over here: http://drupal.org/node/945446

I have a GMap with several nodes that come from a view and when the user click the node title inside the marker's bubble it get redirected to the actual node. However if the user goes back to the map these values are reset to the initial values and I need to present the map as s/he left it.

Right now I'm saving the latitude, longitude, and zoom in a cookie and successfully recovering these values when the map page is presented again map for some reason the map is not getting centered.

Can somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Here is my code:

Route planning

Posted by michael.scappa on August 7, 2010 at 8:02pm

Does anybody have experience creating route planning tools using any location/gmap/openlayer modules? Basically, my goal is to input an arbitrary amount of locations (with a fixed start/end point) and find the shortest route between all the points.
