Posted by cstauffer on January 28, 2014 at 3:58pm

All,

I setup the draft of the wiki page for SCALE for this year (Feb 22 and 23): https://groups.drupal.org/node/401543

Please note, this is a FIRST DRAFT, please feel free to add yourself to the list and edit any content that I may have messed up via copy/paste from last year.

We are going to need more volunteers than just me, so please sign up by editing the wiki page!

More information on SCALE can be found here: https://www.socallinuxexpo.org/scale12x

Cheers,
Chris

First step at scaling mid level site?

Posted by cgrant3d on March 21, 2010 at 6:20am

This question is probably a bit on the beginner end for this group but you've all probably been in my shoes previously so hopefully you'll be able to help me out.

I have a site with 6,000 nodes and 15,000 users. I make liberal use of Views, CCK and Taxonomy on all my pages and I use normal drupal caching and views caching. I run this site on a single VPS however my CPU usage lately has been a bit high (10% on a regular basis) and I need to figure out what my next step is to scale so as not to get on the bad side of my host.

We've got an issue with one of our servers that hosts multiple drupal sites. It was running just fine, and now there's a problem. We're looking to see if there are any other issues causing the server slow down. We're also reassessing our server requirements and so what kind of machine would we need - how many sites can you run serving what n number of requests? I know there's a bunch of variables, how many modules etc... but i'll try and be as specific as possible.
