Changing/hiding the "Group organizers" block

Posted by jstoller on August 1, 2011 at 12:02am

After the great discussion we had at last night's LA Drupal governance meeting, I submitted an issue to allow greater configuration of the "Group organizers" block on this website. Please take a look and consider giving it a +1. The more support it has, the more likely it will be implemented.

[GSoC Proposal] Improve Groups.Drupal.org

Posted by gabriel.massaki on April 8, 2011 at 6:39pm

Who:
My name is Gabriel Massaki and I am studying Computer Science at the University of Campinas (Brazil).
My e-mail is "gabrielmwb at gmail.com" and my nickname on IRC "Gabriel_Massaki".

I live in Brazil, so it'll be "Winter of Code" for me, I study at night so during the day I will have time to work on the project.

Have you contributed to a open source project before?
No, but I always wanted to contribute, because I like the philosophy of open source projects.

Why do you want to do a project involving Drupal?

Being a little more specific with what GDO and groups themselves are about?

Posted by orbgasm on November 17, 2010 at 9:12pm

Upon visiting groups.drupal.org, the first thing people see is the mission statement at the top of the page:

"groups.drupal.org serves the Drupal community by providing a place for groups to organize, plan and work on projects. Real world local user groups (sometimes called meetups) and regional Drupalcamps in particular are encouraged to setup their online presence here."

How-to video or web conference dedicated to using OG Panels on groups.drupal.org

Posted by christefano on October 11, 2010 at 8:19am

Would it be valuable to you, the group organizers and site admins on groups.drupal.org, to see a how-to video or participate in a live web conference and see how OG Panels on groups.drupal.org's "Pages" tabs can be used? I recently heard that the LA Drupal group's pages were helpful to organizers of a few regional groups, and I'd be happy to share what I know.

There's a request to generalize our new local government site into "government". I'm good with that. Everyone else?

Yeah, use per-group taxonomy terms to keep a space for local.

No, local government is unique and precious and national (maybe state?) governments should get their own group.

Dismantle all governments.

The Jobs Page. Did something change or is it me (and by browser?)

Posted by marqpdx on February 21, 2009 at 3:59am

Hi Everyone,

Till about a week ago, i could look at the jobs page here, and there was a nice table, with location, title, Part-Time or Full-Time, telecommute or not.

Now, i am redirected to google feed reader or some such. Different depending on the machine i'm on.

Is the old page gone for good. I miss that interface. It was more useful.

thx,
m

Node body moving as Groups.Drupal.Org/node input format is way-too limited :KEKJIR

Posted by DrupalPal-1 on February 5, 2009 at 2:19pm

KEKJIR: node KEKH8E: main-post (updated 20090205145702):

  • KEKXJA: Not to be negative but I've gotten fed-up with KEKXAN: the way-too-limited, non-standard, & buggy input format of Groups.Drupal.Org (at least to do fully-formatted posts as my groups.drupal.org/node/18329); so I'm KEKXE5: moving the node's main body to another site (recommend one?) while still keeping the discussion and a copy of the teaser paragraph here.

Fatal discussion post error depending on content:"spam filter that is installed on this site is currently not available" :KEJNLA

    Posted by DrupalPal-1 on February 4, 2009 at 2:00pm

KEJN0X: I'm trying to post an update & addition to a discussion via http://groups.drupal.org/node/18329/edit but, in pressing preview, it's causing the seemingly-fatal error quote[The spam filter that is installed on this site is currently not available. Per the site's policy, we are unable to accept new submissions until that problem is resolved. Please try resubmitting the form in a couple minutes.]; if I remove one of the tables in the content (specifically the new table labeled KEJ440), AND if I remove everything but this table, the error goes away & I can preview fine.

Paths change when group name changes

Posted by drewish on June 12, 2008 at 1:35am

I was a bit annoyed to notice that someone had (helpfully?) renamed the Portland group to Portland (Oregon). Honestly it was a good change but the problem is that it broke the URL (portland -> portland-oregon) which we'd just gotten printed on a banner. Any way to disable that auto updating and get our old URL back?
