Does anybody know why my RSS new books feed looks TOTALLY different on feedburner?

Posted by banoodle on April 3, 2013 at 11:53pm

I'm using Drupal Acquia 6 with the Millennium OPAC Module.

I'm ultimately trying to make it possible for our site visitors to subscribe via email to an RSS view I've created (yes - I know emailing RSS feeds is anachronistic, but this is what the client wants). So I am trying to burn my feed to google feedburner so I can leverage their email subscription and statistics tools (but if anyone knows of a better/pure Drupal solution, I would love to hear about it. Please note: the solution has to allow unauthenticated users to subscribe).

Getting secured data out of CW2

Posted by jwurster on June 28, 2012 at 9:00pm

I had an idea months ago to develop an Android app that would read the various RSS feeds that are generated by Community Weaver 2. So, I took a class to learn how to build an app. Then, I thought it would be easy to read an RSS feed generated by CW2, but they are private feeds.

Then I found out about Tokens and installed that module, got my token, formulated the url, but am still not able to read the feed.

Aggregating RSS Feeds

Posted by Downes on February 14, 2012 at 7:22pm

Hiya All,

I am setting up our OpenPublish installation at http://monctonfreepress.ca for RSS feed aggregation

I have been following the documentation at http://docs.openpublishapp.com/display/openpublishd6/Consuming+Incoming+...

The feed aggregates OK and contents are placed into the content type 'Feed item'. So far so good.

However, this part of the documentation puzzles me:

Open the "Processors" field set and select the appropriate "Node type of feed items". Try "Article" as a good first test.

Old RSS Feed Post Not Importing Into OpenScholar Site

Posted by angelb on February 10, 2012 at 2:54pm

Hi All,

We are trying to import an RSS feed from the NY Times in to an OpenScholar site using the Feeds feature. The last post in this feed was made in 2009. When we try to import the feed, it says no new items to import and the where the last feeds should it is blank. How can we get OpenScholar to display the last few posts in the RSS feed even though they were made in 2009?

Thank you for all your help in advance.

Import a list of RSS feeds categorised with taxonomy

Posted by NicoB on September 9, 2011 at 8:24am

Hi,
Not sure it's possible with the feeds's UI to do that. But it's what i need to do !!

Things i can do, separately:
- With feeds module i can import and do mapping with a CSV file everything i want like taxonomy.
- I can also import some RSS feeds, with a taxonomy, one by one, thru the UI.

What i'm searching so hard: do both things together.

I explain:
- I use this type of CSV file:
URL,Title,Taxo1,Taxo2
url1,1rs feed title, category1,type1
url2,2nd feed title, category2,category2
url3,13rd feed title, category2,type1

RSS Feed Frontpage

Posted by wlbradder on May 26, 2011 at 7:10pm

So I try to create an RSS feed list on the front page using the context editor. When the enter feed box comes up I duly do that unfortunately I get a new screen and error message (presumably across each feed item)...

warning: Parameter 2 to calais_tagmods_calais_preprocess() expected to be a reference, value given in /srv/www/vhosts/working-lives.co.uk/httpdocs/news/includes/module.inc on line 483.

Says all has gone remarkably well with this message at the bottom:-

8 new item(s) were saved. 0 existing item(s) were updated.
Feed successfully created.

How to aggregate the full story when you only get a teaser

Posted by sylvanos on April 20, 2011 at 8:24pm

I'm building a news analysis system and I might be using Feeds and Open Calais. The problem I have is that many RSS feeds only publish a title or a teaser but we need the full article. There are many plugins available for feeds but so far I haven't seen any that can do that. Has anyone found a solution to grab the full story out of an RSS feed that only publishes a part of it?

How do I create feeds from articles

Posted by bwebster719 on February 3, 2011 at 4:03pm

Our first Drupal based site is almost ready to go live. So far, Drupal has been a very powerful and fun environment to work in. We've started with the Open Publish distribution of Drupal, and have made a number of customizations to meet our needs, primarily in creating a sub-theme based on the Open Publish theme, and adding, removing, and configuration of modules. And of course blocks, views, and contexts.

Wiredrive and mRSS

Posted by ghazlewood on January 17, 2011 at 4:49pm

I have a potential project on the horizon which would be built around Wiredrive (http://www.wiredrive.com) an online media library for film, tv and video production. The service provides mRSS feeds of videos for external consumption into websites.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience working either with Wiredrive or mRSS? I assume hooking an mRSS feed up to something like flowplayer should be pretty straight forward.
