We're happy to announce that we now have a release candidate available for Drupal 8. This brings all the H5P content types to Drupal 8 including:

Quiz, Interactive Video, Interactive Presentations, Image Hotspots, Accordion and more...

With the latest version of H5P users may copy and paste entire interactions:

And also bring content to front more easily, as well as many other improvements.

Four new content types has also been added: Arithmetic Quiz, Collage, Charts and Impressive Presentation.

The main focus this time has been in documentation. For developers wanting to create or modify H5P content types the documentation is way better.

But we also found the time to create a new question type, a documentation tool, improve xAPI support and more.

December 17, 2014. We make a test broadcast from Höör city council meeting, with a very early version of CM Agenda, a Drupal open-source tool built by collaborative efforts in only two weeks!

H5P is a Drupal module that allows you to make your videos interactive. Directly in your browser. Much the same way as with Popcorn Maker

Interactive video is perhaps the most exciting content type available so far in the H5P ecosystem. Using a simple drag and drop interface in your favorite web browser, you can integrate interactive elements to enrich the video experience.

There are a number of Drupal 8 modules which are making use of Popcorn. The Advanced Tour, Advanced Tour UI and Intermedia modules all make use of Popcorn. While the Advanced Tour was created because the core Tour module wasn't architected for Intermedia all of them make use of Popcorn and the Intermedia module is getting a lot of Drag 'n' Drop stuff being developed, some of which goes in directions that Mozilla's Popcorn Maker developers might find enlightening. Recently an Alpha 6 version of Drupal 8 with all of these modules installed was tested on a Raspberry Pi and performed flawlessly.

Brendan Eich reports on his blog today that Cisco intends to license open source codecs for H.264, and Mozilla will be partnering with Cisco to get that stuff working in browsers.

Any thoughts on a popcorn distribution, even just as a proof of concept, to show whats possible with the popcorn modules out there? I can't for the life of me assemble them into anything usable and I build distros all day so maybe an example would be a good place to start in getting greater adoption. I'd love to roll popcorn aspects into https://drupal.org/project/icor which sees some love as I get free-time.

Well after posting info about discrepencies I noticed on the original popcorn.js library install and getting no feedback, I have continued on doing concurrant development on a drupal implementation for interactive video involving Popcorn for both Drupal 7 and Drupal 6.

Just a quick community note about some momentum in projects that often times directly benefit the drupal edtech community.

We lost Bryan to paint fumes early in the call, but Emily, Emma and I reviewed the current state of the Popcorn related Drupal modules.

While watching the screencast, I think I misunderstood some of Emma's questions when she asked them. At one point I think she was asking about a UI to Populate Cues with times while scrubbing Video.

Also, please look at Demo #1 on http://popcorn.alittlehelphosting.com/ before the call. All of the code I used to do that is committed, but popcorn_fake_views is just a textarea at this point. I guessing it will take 4-6 hours to write the View handlers and formatting needed to populate that part with Cue Builder driven View output.

Using the Popcorn 101 YouTube example to demonstrate how a few modules can be used together to create flexible Popcorn output from Drupal.

Currently there is no integration between the Cue Builder and Popcorn.js modules, but integration has always been part of the plan. While the initial feature of Cue Builder will be deep linking and won't use Popcorn (because that's what RETN needs to upgrade to D7), structurally a Cue has what we need to trigger Popcorn events.
