Drupal Camp is this weekend! July 14th - 15th at Brooklyn Polytechnic University
This time we have T-shirts! But only for the first 100 people.
Only local images are allowed.

So come one, come all but you must sign up!

Drupal Camp is a free unconference the encourages all levels of drupalites, drupalistas, drupalers and just plain geeks to get together to talk about how they use Drupal. Sessions are put together and ran by the participants so the discussions can range from the super brand-new newbie to the l33t Drupal haxor.

Its free to attend but you must sign up

On July 14th starting at 10am we will meet at Brooklyn Polytechnic University and discuss Drupal until our ears bleed blue!

Because the summer months are sooo nice we have planned for one intense day on Saturday and a second day for lingering sessions and continuing training. You can recover, at the beach, on Sunday (Astroland, anyone? last chance!)

Tee Shirts?

T-Shirts could be cool but there are currently no plans to get any made up. Sponsorship is a definite, we have had a few incredibly nice companies/organizations step up to help with food/drinks. We still need more though!

We are always up for more sponsorship so if you know of a company/organization that would like to sponsor please send them my way and I'll try to coordinate it.

If you'd like to help out with the T-Shirt making I'm down for it. The barcamps always had cool T-shirts.. I was jealous.

What would something like this cost? guessin 10ドル/shirt for 100 shirts (1,000ドル)? Think we could find a sponsor for that?

You simply need to edit the page and add your information. There is not "form" so to speak. Click edit page at the top, password is c4mp (says it on the page)

Thanks everyone for coming out. While we had some ups and downs at the camp (like the room being too warm in the morning) I think it turned out really well. I want to emphasize, again, how proud I am to be part of such a great community.

One of the points I was trying to make during my mini-speech in the morning was how we, as a Drupal community, using Open Source Software (OSS) and being involved in the larger Open Source community are creating real change in the world. We can see direct results from those that use Drupal and/or OSS to manage political or social justice campaigns and other forms of activism. Other results are harder to see but are massive nonetheless. The software industry is shifting, turning and adjusting to the phenomenon of people like you choosing to pay for premium support vs. paying for a product. The big companies have adjusted licensing costs and have placed a larger emphasis on service as well as creating items like "Shared Source" or even partially opening up the source of their products.

Even if you're not a coder and looking at the source doesn't interest you, think of it as knowledge. When the big companies open up their source they are releasing knowledge back into our world, society and communities. Knowledge pushes our societies forward and allows us to continue to grow, products are simply representations of a set of knowledge.

We can be see change elsewhere too. Unconferences, like barcamps, rose up against the standard commercialized conference putting emphasis on knowledge transfer vs. product purchases. Creative commons licensing is a massive rebellion against the trademark/copyright laws the purposely aim to sequester knowledge.

Although you may have just attended a "conference" this weekend you are part of a movement that is rippling throughout the world and causing change.

Well said, Jacob! Sorry I missed it (Saturdays, dude).

We are indeed part of a broader revolution helping to change the world.

I believe we continually need to be exploring more ways to foster increased collaboration and connectedness w/ our endeavors, in pursuit of products and services with big visions. There is too much effort being poured in to projects that are too narrow, isolated, disparate. Together, we can make bigger change.

I love this community.

Two, during the lightning talks on Saturday, there was a fellow who was talking about creating a website in response to a book. Does anyone recall what the name of that book was?
