Facebook Ads API module?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hello!

Some colleagues and I are beginning work on a module to create and manage ads via the Facebook Ads API. I understand that the demand for this module might be small (not everyone advertises on facebook, and facebook requires approval before you get access to the API) but I'm hopeful that anyone else interested in this might benefit from building it and maintaining it together.

We're still very early in the process, but are trying to architect it in a way that our site-specific features are abstracted away from whatever we make for Drupal.org.

If you are interested in this, please leave a comment or contact me http://drupal.org/user/36762/contact

Thanks for the wonderful article. For developers who are not yet eligible for access to Ads API what alternative do you suggest ? Power editor is cool but once cannot write code around it.
Has anyone tried simpleapi.launchrock.com ?

Is that endorsed/approved by Facebook? I believe they don't let people do this unless you are Strategic Preferred Marketing Developer which...it doesn't seem like you are.

It seems so

I agree that they have to be approved at least as a PMD, if not an sPMD but their landing page does not have that information.
I just wanted to know whether getting the API access is really that hard ?
I know getting PMD badge is hard but just access to APIs should be easy right ?
Should I just wait for my approval or is there any value in using the services of someone like simpleAPI ?
What has been other people's experience ?

Hi there, The module is up

Hi there,

The module is up and running for us and we'd be interested in collaborators who have access to the FB Ad API and are experienced developers. We can't currently prioritize the time in making it contributable on d.o, but probably will in a year or two.

If you are approved by Facebook to use their Ad api AND you have development resources to put toward the module please just contact me directly with a link to your code on drupal.org or github.

Is there still interest

I am digging up an old post, but I am just starting to do a lot of development work with Facebook Advertising with some of the new powerful options they are offering merchants.

Hi Perignon! Thanks for the

Hi Perignon!

Thanks for the comment here and your email.

Since I posted this, the official Facebook Ads API SDK for PHP was released. So, some of the work has been absorbed by them.

I also want to thank you for posting https://www.drupal.org/sandbox/perignon/2571091 It seems like a great tool related to this topic!

I've asked a colleague to comment on where we are - not sure what we have is really sharable as it's grown to be pretty tied to our particular needs.

Ok thanks. I am re-writing

Ok thanks.

I am re-writing the module now because Facebook has (in the last two weeks) changed the Tracking pixel stuff. Gotta love FB...
