Writing performant CSS

Posted by christefano on May 18, 2012 at 5:07am

If nothing else, writing performant CSS sounds good to me! Will it be possible for me to tune in via Skype or a Google+ Hangout in case I can't make it in person?

I posted slides since I'm sure someone will ask if I can post them. Also I have set up Google+ Hangout.

My attempt to host a Google+ hangout failed, after my connections was reset I don't think it worked again despite saying it was broadcasting. Sorry to those people who tried to join the hangout.

Thanks for trying, Ishmael. I was wondering why it wasn't working & figured there were hiccups as I've run into them myself in Downtown the 1st time i tried. Were you able to record it? Really great topic so i sure hope so.

To Mike's point, I never knew that was an issue but it makes sense as once I created it (as a gmail user), it seemed to work. Undocumented feature? ;)

gmail vs. google apps. try using "invite"

Posted by mike stewart on May 24, 2012 at 5:10pm

Bummer to hear. If it helps, and I'm not sure its even related, but at the contribute meetups in Long Beach (next Tues eve, is the next), I feel we've had problems using a pre-shared URL to "hangout" -- the problem seems related to if the host/guests are use different google services: google apps versus gmail.

We've solved it by having a gmail user start the hangout, and then invite google apps participants that want to join. We use IRC to coordinate so that everyone gets invited...

However, using just a pre-shared URL to hangout, seems to work consistently for gmail accounts. So we've been naming the room ladrupal, which equates to the published LA Drupal hangout: https://talkgadget.google.com/hangouts/extras/ladrupal -- but I don't think the URL has any meaning.

I got slides, but no recording. I think I need a meet up to or at least a training from more seasoned organizers on what technologies to use for recording, sharing, and their process. I'm definitely doing something wrong or my set up isn't helping to facilitate.
