D6 Page Compression vs. Apache2 mod_deflate?

Sorry, I'm sure this is addressed somewhere, but I can't find it. Can someone point me to a discussion that can help me decide whether I should be using Drupal 6 "Page Compression" or Apache2's mod_deflate?

If you are talking about apples-to-apples comparison, then in most cases lower level cahing is faster. I would suggest to make some benchmarks on test server with your own site you plan to use. But if there are some aditional speedups then it depends...
