I would like to organize some meetups and meet some other Drupal people in New Mexico. I am not in Albuquerque. Does anybody object to changing this to a general New Mexico group.

Broadening to a New Mexico Group
Based on the lack of postings for Albuquerque, it would be good in my opinion to expand to the whole state. Where are you located?

There are a handful of us in Grants, NM it would be helpful to connect to a larger group.
I'm in Rio Rancho
While I live close to Albuquerque, I have no problem with a larger more encompassing group--the more heads involved the better we can help each other out.

I'm in Albuquerque, but there really hasn't been much activity in this group. Expanding it to NM makes sense.

Changed to "New Mexico"
Based on these responses, I changed this group to "New Mexico" and gave it a new URL (http://groups.drupal.org/new_mexico). I also made trobey an organizer. If people are willing to organize, they ought to be group organizers. Hoping that you can all get some meetups going. Thanks for the effort here!

Hey... Good to see some more activity here. I'm glad to help with some coordination and promotion for any events in the ABQ & Santa Fe areas (or further west, north, south or east).
As Markie mentioned in another thread, there are ABQ events on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday nights (Webuquerque & ABQ WebGeeks), there's also the Ruby group on 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesday nights, TechThursday and WordPress the 2nd Thursday afternoon/evening.
The closest active group I'm aware of in Santa Fe is the Software Developers meetup (alternating the 4th Wednesday or Thursday).

I'd encourage any Santa Fe area folks to come to the Santa Fe Software Developers Meetup next Wednesday at the Santa Fe Complex. Maybe we can have a little talk off to the side?
Depending on preferred times and interests, the Complex is usually pretty available for topics we'd be interested in -- so let's talk!
