BrightLemon drupal training

We host regular Drupal training sessions in London - we just completed a whole week of Drupal training recently (http://www.brightlemon.com/events/drupal-depth-week-advanced-drupal).

Were looking into releasing some dates for some new Drupal courses shortly - I will keep you updated.

I just completed the

I just completed the Lynda.com Drupal 7 Essential Training component and it was pretty valuable in getting me started. I don't know your skill level with Drupal but this was a good resource for beginners. I think they have memberships for about 25ドル a month (my company bought mine so I'm not sure the details) but for that, you can have access to any of the training videos they offer. I got through the Drupal 7 one in about 3 days time and while I don't feel confident yet in building my site, I do know what steps to take to start.

I also bought Drupal for Dummies from Amazon.com because the reviews said it was a pretty good resource. I haven't cracked that open yet though because I was doing the Lynda.com thing.

Just some ideas.

the value of the Drupal docs

Hi, I would also highly recommend getting to know the Drupal documentation site. It is set up in a book format and is searchable which makes it good for figuring out specific issues. Plus, you're getting the information straight from the horse's mouth so you can be sure that it is the most up to date and accurate.
Were you able to get through the site installation process? It's not too bad. The quick and dirty is copy the code base somewhere in your web server, create a database, enter the database info in /path/to/drupal/sites/default/settings.php then run the install.php script from your browser http://example.com/install.php.

Good luck learning the new system and don't hesitate to post to forums if you run into problems!

In additional to all the above good suggestions you can try the Lullabot tutorials too.
