Based on the discussion thread and chatting with a couple of folks offline, I think we might as well set a date! With 16 of us (and more to come, surely!), it is unlikely we will find a date and place that works perfectly for everyone, but I suggest we start with this (second Thursday of the month) and see how it goes.
The meetup will be at the Daily Grind coffee shop which is a pretty easy walk from downtown, has free WiFi, a wide range of caffeinated drinks and a very fine line in muffins and other food. If you are coming from highway 101 exit at Mission and you are right there - there is parking available. It's walkable from downtown, or a very short walk from several bus routes.
I put time as 6pm until 10pm (which I believe is the closing time) but feel free to just drop by for an hour or 2 if you have other engagements. Please click the sign-up link so we have some idea of how many are planning on coming.
Look for people with laptops (bring your own!) and/or Drupal t-shirts and rambling on about 'nodes', 'modules', 'hooks' and other stuff that is unlikely to come up in non-Drupaller conversation :)

I haven't been to the Daily Grind but have seen pictures of it and was left uninspired. I've also heard that it isn't great for large groups (I said as much in an earlier post but nobody responded). If we're not committed yet to Daily Grind as a location, how about considering Red's or Java Station?

I would rather stick with the Daily Grind if we can - mainly because I don't want to create confusion :)
I have been there a few times and I think it should work fine for us right now, since we are really not that many people. Perhaps next time we could try Red's or Java Jones and see how we go (Java Jones might be a little out of the way, and not too easy to bus to/from at night for car free folks) - there are probably other places we could try too, if we put our heads together. If we want I might be able to borrow the conference room at work some evenings too, which would be fun, especially if we want to have some presentations etc!
