I'm looking for a reputable small business accountant in the Grand Rapids area that has experience working with freelancers and small technology LLCs. Anyone have a suggestion?

I would suggest joining these 2 groups on Linked In: Small Biz Nation, and Linked Up Grand Rapids. These 2 groups have forums that are pretty active and just like this one, questions get answered fairly quickly with tons of informed and reputable people.

Go see Dan Carter.
He is a board member on the Small Business Technology Development Center, knows what he's doing for taxes and has the experience and "juice" to get your idea to the next level... ie angels, vc, etc.
If that's beyond your need, and you're looking for a "tax guy", then he might be beyond your needs. Meaning, you'll probably pay extra on the taxes, but you gain a relationship with a skilled pro too...
