Groupware for small Drupal Shops?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

As javilinsharp pointed out in his post, the groupware solutions that are out there seem to be missing our niche (small dev shops in general -- not just Drupal) entirely. So, I have to ask:

What features would you want, or definitely not want, in a groupware solution for your company?

My list

Must-haves:

  • Time tracker with configurable or 15m increments
  • Issue tracker
  • Someplace convenient to put client data such as contact info, logon credentials, etc.
  • Contact notes (to keep track of who spoke to whom when and about what)
  • Integration with our existing git repos for display of history, etc.

    • Ability to associate commits with issues
    • Ability to browse revision history (git log)
  • Billing, including recurring billing for things like support contracts.

  • Self hosted.
  • Works smoothly in common browsers (on Linux and Mac)
  • Efficiency: common actions should take as few clicks and as little time as possible.

Wish list:

  • Ability to change state of an issue from a git commit message.
  • Ability to associate a commit with one or more issues from the git commit message.
  • Ability to log time spent from the git commit message.
  • Ability to put emailed support requests directly into issue queue
  • Ability to keep track of monthly support usage
  • Ticgit integration
  • Open source (who knows what I'll need to modify/extend someday).

Must-not-haves:

  • Flash
  • Data lock-in (difficulty getting our data out if we decide to migrate to something else).

Not sure about "self-hosted" ?

I understand why "self-hosted" is attractive, but having somebody else take the worry out of backup and data integrity strikes me as a significant plus. I guess it depends on what you offer, if you're offering hosting then you have things in place. I don't offer hosting, only consulting and development. I have fully automated back-up (local and remote) on my server and workstations, but still, for crucial data (financial) I like the idea that a specialist company is handling it.
