i am new bee in drupal development

i have the list of departmenets with the code number adn it address as following

001- purchase 002- transport 003- catering

etc...

as like that in each field fileds like address, contact no etc

now need one in which the select list of department shows the select list of 001,002,003 etc

but when i select the list 002- the details would be typed like address, contact etc into particular segments in that node...

Did anyone know how to create custom module in D7 for simple add/edit/delete. I am new to module development. Need to create one content type which have add/edit/delete functionality. CCK is not a option for us as lots of additional functionality needed here. We have already checked http://drupal.org/node/361112 but this is only for creating block.

Anyone have proper links to share or custom module created which will be helpful for review will be great help.

We are yet planning a school management solution for a school in. We use Drupal for our school and alumni sites.

Here is a list of benefits and functionality we are looking at. Is this doable with Drupal or will we need a proprietary solution. Are there any open source solutions for this use case?

1.An interactive platform for all entities and stakeholders viz. Students, Parents, Teachers, Management, Administrators and the Alumni of the school.
2.connects all the departments of an institution and knits them into a complete whole

Hi everyone,

We never had Drupal meetup in Ahmedabad. I have been meeting few Drupal Developers, around 5 of us felt that we should have Drupal meetup.
We are planning one around December end wherein Drupal Developers in Ahmedabad or Gujarat can come and share anything about Drupal. We are debating on the agenda for the meetup.

Agenda for the meetup can be
1. Discussion on Drupal 7 and
2. Discuss some challenging Drupal work done in recent past
3. Networking

I request to have some consensus over translating projects to Gujarati Lanuage. We can distribute different projects/modules/themes to translate to Gujarati Language. This way we can complete the translation quickly.
