upserting an existing contact

Posted by johnhanley on September 4, 2014 at 8:14pm

I'm trying to upsert values from a newly created node into an existing Salesforce contact object. The field mapping includes a field containing the Salesforce contact ID. The Action triggers are set as "Drupal entity create" and "Drupal entity update".

When inserting a new node the following error occurs:

SalesforceException: The Id field should not be specified in the sobject data. in Salesforce->apiCall() (line 104 of /sites/all/modules/salesforce/includes/salesforce.inc).

Salesforce won't know which contact object to upsert without the ID.

Has anyone dealt with this before?

Drupal Camp Mexico City! ¡ Más de 1000 visitas en una semana !

Posted by ricardobeltranl on November 12, 2013 at 4:30pm

Estimados Drupaleros,

should I use the Salesforce Suite (Drupal), Salesforce Communities? Red Hen? Springboard?

Posted by Carolina Tiger ... on July 14, 2013 at 8:06pm

I am the IT Administrator at Carolina Tiger Rescue, a wildcat sanctuary in NC. I'm currently looking to revise our existing site as a Drupal site, and we use Salesforce as our CRM.

There's a lot that of crossover that could help us:

  1. Login - we could offer different views/permissions to our website visitors based on Salesforce Contact values- (e.g.- volunteers would have access to volunteer documentation, members could access coupon codes, expiration information). We also have a 3rd party online store with its own login and I would like our users to only need one.

How to decide which CRM to use with Drupal

Posted by dkinzer on August 2, 2011 at 6:26pm

Hello,

I am a developer for jenkinslaw.org and we are currently discussing migrating to a new CRM. So far we are looking into Sugar and Salesforce. We just recently finished migrating our old CMS to Drupal.

We are looking for a CRM that meets the following criteria:

  • Roles-based permissions
  • Integration with Drupal
  • Integration with Google single sign-on
  • Integrate with the current invoicing system
  • Have the potential to serve as our new invoicing system

I'm wondering what sort of experiences you may have had/ and how you came to make your final choice.

Drupal Returning nack to Salesforce SOAP Message

Posted by mtbosworth on May 31, 2011 at 9:12pm

I have setup Outbound messages for Case, Comment, and Contact objects and their respective sf_notifications configs. Case and Comment objects are being received without problems. Contact object are being reject by Drupal.

Things I have ruled out:
User send as on the Salesforce side (Same user is used for Case and Comment)
Workflow logic (Every time a contact is created or updated when 1 = 1)
Endpoint URL (all endpoint urls are the same)
All field maps are enabled in Drupal to recieve notifications.

I am out of ideas on why these messages are rejected. Anyone dealt with this?

Cases Pushed to Salesforce show Contact Name as empty in Salesforce

Posted by mtbosworth on May 26, 2011 at 7:51pm

In my Drupal instance I have mapped a Case Node to a the Case object in Salesforce. I have mapped the fields that are relevant to my project. All fields seem to show up correctly in Salesforce except that the Contact Name is empty.

Things I've ruled out:
Salesforce permissions - I've confirmed that I can create contacts.
Salesforce connection - Cases are making it there fine

Things I'm testing now:
Clearing out all users, doing a fresh import from salesforce, the try creating a case.

Pulling Data From Salesforce into Drupal

Posted by mtbosworth on March 23, 2011 at 2:43pm

Hello everyone. I am working on a project to setup up Drupal as a case tracker front end for Salesforce giving end users the ability to provide a feedback. I recently setup a simple Drupal Pressflow instance with Salesforce integration and was able to submit cases and users to my development Salesforce account. Awesome. Now I need the Drupal sites to be able to pull statuses of the cases back from Salesforce to keep end users up-to-date on the cases that they've created. This is my question for the Salesforce group: What is the best way to pull data back from Salesforce?

Looking for Group for Drupal 7 and Microsoft SQL Server

Posted by bg1 on March 9, 2011 at 9:04pm

I am looking for a group or just others interested in using MSSQL Svr with Drupal (especially Drupal 7).

I am NOT necessarily wanting to run Drupal on Windows. I want to leave Drupal on its own server under Linux but store the data in SQL Svr on its own Windows server.

Is this group the appropriate group for such discussion? If not, where might I find people interested in such discussion.

Webform to Zoho

Posted by andy inman on October 19, 2010 at 10:03am

I'm currently involved in a project that captures webform data and posts it into zoho as a "lead". In an earlier version, we had PHP in the webform itself, but now I'm upgrading it to a standalone module which hooks into relevant webforms via hook_form_alter. Currently it's not generalised enough to become a general-purpose module, but it could be. Is anybody else doing anything like this, or need to?

Salesforce REST API - Any plans to support it?

Posted by emptyvoid on October 14, 2010 at 8:38pm

Hello,

I know about the salesforce api module providing a framework to connect to salesforce using the SOAP web service. Has anyone started to take a look at the REST API?

Salesforce API
http://drupal.org/project/salesforce

The upcoming Force.com REST API is a new and powerful integration API. An alternative approach to the SOAP-based Force.com Web Services API, REST uses simple HTTP and JSON as a possible output format, to make integrating with Force.com fast and easy.

Basic Netsuite integration

Posted by drupaledmonk on May 5, 2010 at 11:52am

I am building a module which does provides a basic integration of a drupal site with netsuite crm(for a client). I am planning to implement tasks such as
1.) creating leads,prospects, customers.
2.) adding users as sales reps.
3.) assigning sales reps.
4.) notifications with emails about new leads for follow up.
5.) creating activites.
6.) create roles types based on netsuite.
I will make use cases once I get around the PHPToolkit that netsuite provides for the developers. I would be very happy if anyone would want to chip with their ideas and experiences with netsuite or in general.

Single Sign On to Salesforce.com Self-Service Portal

Posted by Lloyd on April 21, 2010 at 7:51am

I'm trying to figure out how to enable single sign on so that logged in users can access the SFDC self-service portal (included in a page on our site via an iframe) without having to login a 2nd time using SFDC-specific credentials. I guess I also have to sync Drupal credentials and SFDC SSP credentials.

I've been searching desperately but can't find any solutions. Does anybody have any experience with this and can help and/or point me in the right direction?

Thanks.
