Just before BADcamp we organise the second edition of Drupal Surf Camp, this time in the famouse surf spots of Santa Cruz California.

Our Mobile Device Lab program has been a quiet success here at Droplabs, and after a successful event with Intel earlier this year, we're taking the show on the road with our second Mobile Device Lab meetup of 2014!

This time we're partnering with our friends at the Opodz, a venue of the Downtown Drupal Meetup, and are meeting at 7:00pm on April 8th at their Little Tokyo location at 362 East 2nd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Attendees will have free access to a range of devices for their mobile app and mobile website development and testing.

Hi all, if anyone is interested in wearable technology (device integration, quantified self, augmented reality, etc.) and how it relates to Drupal and some of the exciting work we do, I'll be speaking today on a panel at the Wearable Tech Expo in Universal City:

Hollywood has long driven the imagination with all sorts of advanced technology. In the past this tech was all imaginary but in today's world nothing is left strictly to imagination any longer.

From the wearable technology of Tron: Legacy to the advanced tech of the latest Star Trek, much of it can already be implemented in the real world. This session demonstrates the evolution of wearable tech in the movies to wearable tech in our real lives.

If you're at the expo and can make it to the session, it's in Ballroom C at 3:30pm. Hope to see you there! If you can't make it, by all means please ask any questions here in this discussion and I and other folks in this community will do our best to answer them.

Mobile Device Lab is Droplabs' program designed to accommodate the needs of freelancers, independent contractors, remote workers and and indie developers. All equipment is available to use free of charge, although Droplabs' standard day passes or membership fees may apply.

This is a major step forward for VSCP and for arduino.
The VSCP intergration on an arduino board with a CAN shield (from sparkfun.com) is a fact.

Now it's possible for integrate arduino devices into drupal with the VSCP module.

I've managed to integrate my home automation into drupal.
It's available, as a sandbox, on drupal.org
Every event that occurs on my domotica-network (CAN), can be send to my drupal site.
Also i can send events from my drupal site to the domotica-network (and so i can switch the lights, ...).
Also it's integrate with the rules module to for example send an email when some event occures on the domotica-network.

Now, i was looking to create a manner to log events.

I am from the industrial controls world, where we use a lot of embedded controls. I see no reason why drupal would not be an excellent batch scheduling system. Its almost perfect infact.

But there is just one glaring problem with it that I can not figure out at the moment, and I could really use some help. Its the DATASOURCE module. is it really working? and where is the documentation.

This is a placeholder for a "living document" describing use cases for Drupal <-> device integration

• Recording of energy usage, carbon footprint
• Home monitoring and automation
• Location-awareness of people/things
• RFID event repository with associated workflows
• ...?

Is there any active activity in this area? It is very much of interest to me and an area of expertise for me. I'm also involved in similar initiatives in the commercial, academic, and community areas (Pachube, Burning Sky Software, "Web of Things", others).
