The Apereo Foundation (apereo.org), is a global non-profit supporting the development and use of open source software in higher education. Apereo is hosting an online conference, "Open Apereo," on June 14th. I am organizing a FREE local watch-party in Troy, NY., where local Capital District open source enthusiasts can get together to watch the conference. My goal is simply to help promote open source software and communities in the Capital District.

Work from where you are for clients connecting people with the natural world and fighting for justice. The Web Developer will theme and configure Drupal 8 sites. The Project Manager will lead two to five-person teams to build websites, design publications, conduct campaigns, and produce videos. You’ll be on track for ownership within our cooperative at one year, with equal compensation and governance.

Actionable Strategies to Improve Visitor Experience using Drupal

With so much emphasis on tooling and building, and forever chasing the next feature, it is easy to forget the importance of continually evaluating your existing Drupal site architecture and practices to improve visitor experience. Whether you are in the public sector, higher ed, or tech, this session is designed to help you put visitors at the center of your Drupal website’s narrative to improve the quality of their visit.

Hey all,

I finally got around to installing Drupal 8! I like the built in responsive first Bartik theme, but there are a couple of other changes that are affecting my ability to add custom content to my new installation. The first is the removal of the php filter, and the second are the changes to the JavaScript API.

The removal of the php filter was a minor annoyance, but easily remedied by adding it to my installation. The changes to the JavaScript API however are proving to be my undoing.
