[edit ]From Proto-Indo-European *bhog-i-s, from *bheg- ("flowing water, brook, stream"). Cognate with Proto-Slavic *bagnò ("swamp, bog, marsh"), as well as perhaps Old Irish búal ("water; bathing, healing, cure").[1]
