Hello. You're invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It started today on Monday June 16 and will run until Sunday July 13. There is over 3300ドル going into it, with 500ドル the top prize. If you are interested in winning something to save you money in buying books for future content, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for subjects which interest you, sign up on the page in the participants section if interested. Even if you can only manage a few articles they would be very much appreciated and help make the content produced as diverse and broad as possible!♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:15, 16 June 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved content from Battle of Ridaniya into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content (here or elsewhere), Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied }} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Wham2001 (talk) 22:13, 21 June 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

@Wham2001 I apologize for my mistake. Thank you for informing me. I was not aware of such a policy. Sorry. Kartal1071 (talk) 03:35, 22 June 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
No worries – Wikipedia is full of obscure policies. But if you've copied content to other articles it would be good to add the attribution now: see WP:RIA for instructions. Best, Wham2001 (talk) 09:20, 22 June 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

Destubathon runs until the 16th of July

[edit ]

Hi, just a courtesy message to notify you in case you haven't seen the Wikipedia:The World Destubathon contest update in the last few days that we've decided to run the full month until the 16th of July. For those who have been too busy to contribute, we would love some help in reaching 4000 articles by Wednesday night! At present we're about 480 articles short!♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:49, 13 July 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

[edit ]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Malik-Shah I. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. HistoryofIran (talk) 20:43, 25 August 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

Turkish names

[edit ]

I don't think we need Turkish names for Seljuk sultans. Maybe yes for Anatolian sultans since it's part of Turkish history. While the Persian names are also long and redundant. Beshogur (talk) 15:41, 26 August 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Alp Arslan, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Sumanuil . (talk to me) 08:18, 30 October 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

@Sumanuil, some IP users were making non-constructive changes to Alp Arslan's article, and I usually checked and then reverted. But the last time I reverted, I reverted without checking the content. Thank you for correcting my mistake. I'll try to be more careful from now on. Kartal1071 (talk) 08:51, 30 October 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

[edit ]

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page . If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:01, 18 November 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit ]

You have recently edited a page related to the topics of Kurds and Kurdistan, broadly construed, a topic designated as contentious . This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware }} template.

This account has been blocked indefinitely as a sockpuppet that was created to violate Wikipedia policy. Note that using multiple accounts is allowed, but using them for illegitimate reasons is not, and that all edits made while evading a block or ban may be reverted or deleted. If this account is not a sockpuppet, and you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}} below. asilvering (talk) 19:36, 14 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
Sorry, used the wrong block template. You're not indeffed. Just a month. -- asilvering (talk) 19:38, 14 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
Oops, no, I did indef you. Changed to a month. -- asilvering (talk) 19:39, 14 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
@Asilvering no problem 🙂. I shouldn't have gotten involved at all. I deserved this punishment anyway. Kartal1071 (talk) 19:42, 14 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
I realized I made a mistake and reverted the last edit I made to the page. I apologize for the inconvenience. Kartal1071 (talk) 19:38, 14 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
If you would like to appeal the block, please request unblock as normal. I'm not going to unblock you, but someone else might. Note to responding admins: if you're considering an unblock, please contact me privately first. I won't try to talk you out of it, but there's some evidence you should have and likely will not notice. -- asilvering (talk) 19:41, 14 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

@Asilvering.
A negative perception has been created about this page on social media. This may be the reason for the intense attacks. I initially added the delete template because I thought the page was newly created. However, after checking the page's creation date, I changed my mind. Please don't remove the block. Let it remain as a reminder that I should stay out of things that don't concern me. It's my choice. Please don't remove it. Kartal1071 (talk) 20:01, 14 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
Blocks aren't supposed to be punishment, and given your responses here I'll reduce it to a week, down from the month I originally set. -- asilvering (talk) 20:47, 14 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
Thank you @Asilvering. I know this isn't a punishment. I'm just criticizing myself and punishing myself. Kartal1071 (talk) 21:01, 14 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
@Asilvering.
"I deserved this punishment anyway." I reacted emotionally because I was blocked, and that's why I wrote this response. I apologize for causing any misunderstanding. Kartal1071 (talk) 21:16, 14 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
@Asilvering.
On X, a public opinion is being formed regarding this page. The page dates back to 2006, but for some reason, the reactions are being voiced while peace talks are taking place between Türkiye and the Organization. Given this situation, I think measures should be taken regarding the page and a warning should be added. Otherwise, some people who are unaware of the situation and don't know how to use Wikipedia might believe that the page was recently created. I suspect their aim is to disrupt the peace talks that Türkiye is currently conducting and to increase hatred and animosity in society. A warning should be added to prevent people who are unaware of the events from falling into such traps.

I don't think these people are confused about when the page was created. They're just angry that it exists at all. -- asilvering (talk) 19:43, 15 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
@Asilvering.
It's as if they're specifically encouraging people to attack the English Wikipedia. X links serve as proof of this, in a way. Apparently, this page also exists on the Turkish Wikipedia. However, despite specifically searching on X, I haven't come across any posts about the existence of a Kurdistan page on the Turkish Wikipedia. I wish you a good evening and thank you for your reply. Kartal1071 (talk) 20:43, 15 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
I did some research on this matter today and this evening, and these are the results I obtained. I just wanted to let you know. Kartal1071 (talk) 20:53, 15 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

Small Misunderstanding

[edit ]

Sorry, I didn't realise I had removed your edit in Afshin Bey's page. The reason I had originally removed the Infobox, was because it was a small one, and all the information in it had already been added to the rest of the page, therefore it was unnecessary. Just to clear up the misunderstanding. Neoptolemos7 (talk) 20:40, 2 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

You are invited to participate in the Destubathon of the Americas , a contest/editathon which will run from May 1 to May 31. The goal is to destub as many of our 475,000+ stubs for the Americas (from Alaska down to Chile) as possible. A good chance to have fun in expanding many of our old stale stubs and win up to 2000ドル (2680ドル) in Amazon vouchers for expanding stub articles. Sign up in the Contestants/participants section on the contest page if interested. Even if not interested in prizes you are still warmly welcome to participate in it as an editathon! Hopefully we can achieve something significant in the month of May together! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:10, 15 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
