See wp:overlink. If most people are familiar with a word, please do not link it. If the content of the an article would help a reader understand an article linking a common word would generally be fine. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 00:38, 16 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

Columbia, South Carolina edit

[edit source ]

Why did you remove the "| pop_est_footnotes =" field from Columbia, South Carolina? If nothing is entered it doesn't display anything. If your edit does not changes the appearance of an article, you probably should not make it. "If it isn't broke, don't fix it". Thank you Adakiko (talk) 00:50, 16 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

I removed it because there is no reason to include them in the edit source if they're blank. Why do you care? Citelink (talk) 00:52, 16 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
Your edit didn't change the article's appearance. The field may be used in the near future, so there is no need to remove it. You are simply cluttering up the wp:page history. Please stop. Adakiko (talk) 00:55, 16 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

Please do not link to non-existent articles, e.g. wp:redlink unless it's likely an article would be created. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 01:02, 16 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

Please see template:Infobox settlement#Population, demographics. population_total= ...preferably consisting of digits only (without any commas). Please read template docs before making such changes. Some countries use a comma to group digits, others a decimal point. See also MOS:DIGITS: In general, digits should be grouped and separated either by commas or by narrow gaps (never a period/full point).. Adakiko (talk) 01:09, 16 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

Information icon Hello, I'm Zackmann08. An edit that you recently made to Patrick Purdy seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology). Text produced by these applications is not allowed on Wikipedia, and may contain factually inaccurate statements, fictitious citations, or other problems. You should instead read reliable sources and then summarize those in your own words. Your edit may have been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or ask your questions at the Teahouse, a friendly place for new users. Thanks. Zackmann (Talk to me /What I been doing ) 18:51, 23 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

No, that is not true. It contains everything listed in the Stockton schoolyard shooting article, but because of the sheer amount of information there is about the perpetrator, it is essential to include all of that information on a separate article instead. Citelink (talk) 18:55, 23 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
And I was in the middle of making improvements before you rudely interrupted me. Citelink (talk) 18:56, 23 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
Your edits (seen here) were so full of errors and fictitious references that they show clear signs of AI. Furthermore, calling a far more experienced editor "rude" because they reverted your edits that broke a working page is not a wise strategy. If you intend to try to create this page, I would recommend that you create it as a draft first as your current attempt is not a workable page. Zackmann (Talk to me /What I been doing ) 18:58, 23 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
The cite errors need to be fixed. Citelink (talk) 19:26, 23 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
Then they should be fixed before you click save on an article in the Article namespace. If you want to take your time with it, which is 100% fine to do, then I again recommend creating a WP:DRAFT. Zackmann (Talk to me /What I been doing ) 19:30, 23 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
I've already created the draft. I cannot make anything effective until these cite errors are fixed. Citelink (talk) 19:32, 23 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

There is no need to add that article to every single tropical cyclone article you came across. If you want to add information to articles, please add content to the main parts of the article, and be sure to include a source. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:04, 19 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

None of the others are sourced so what makes mine different? Why would you revert all of my edits? Citelink (talk) 22:58, 19 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
Tropical cyclones by year is already linked from tropical cyclones in 2024, or linked from the List of Atlantic hurricane seasons. What made your edit different is that you spammed dozens of pages with a useless link. Hurricanehink mobile (talk) 04:19, 20 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

Your contributed article, 2026 Pennsylvania Avenue Shooting

[edit source ]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, 2026 Pennsylvania Avenue Shooting . First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – May 2026 White House shooting . Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at May 2026 White House shooting. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator , or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions.

Information icon Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Template:Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. When you were adding content to the page, you added duplicate arguments to a template which can cause issues with how the template is rendered. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find these errors as they will display in yellow at the top of the page. Thanks. ????? Citelink (talk) 03:40, 2 June 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
You have been warned, repeatedly, about the need to use WP:PREVIEW and continue to fail to do so. This is a disappointing pattern of behavior. If you continue it will result in another block. Zackmann (Talk to me /What I been doing ) 03:42, 2 June 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
I used it. Citelink (talk) 03:43, 2 June 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
You need to stop. You cannot convert Template:Stoneman Douglas High School shooting to a sidebar as it is used at the bottom of 37 pages. Doing this breaks EVERY ONE of those pages. STOP Zackmann (Talk to me /What I been doing ) 03:44, 2 June 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
Which pages? Citelink (talk) 03:44, 2 June 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
You do not know what you are doing. I get that you think you are helping but you do not have the experience required to be editing a template in this way. If you do no understand that this template is being used on dozens of other pages, you should not be making any changes to it. The fact that you had to ask which pages? is a huge red flag.
@Yue: as the previous blocker, this may require admin intervention again. Zackmann (Talk to me /What I been doing ) 03:46, 2 June 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
No need. Citelink (talk) 03:47, 2 June 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
I understand which pages now after taking a brief look at the edit history. I didn't realize the template was at the bottom of the page. My apologies. Citelink (talk) 03:51, 2 June 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
Citelink I understand you are trying to be helpful. I know you are a new editor but you need to slow down and listen. When an editor reverts you, the way I did here with an edit summary saying You cannot convert a navbox to a sidebar without updating EVERY page that uses it., you CANNOT simply revert the edit because you disagree with it. This is edit waring and will result in you being blocked. I had a very good reason for reverting your edit, as I tried to explain in my edit summary. If you don't understand another editor's revert, post a message on their talk page, or on the talk page of the article in question and {{ping}} the editor in question. Simply reverting a revert is NEVER a good idea. Zackmann (Talk to me /What I been doing ) 03:52, 2 June 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
I see. Citelink (talk) 03:53, 2 June 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
@Citelink: Another relevant policy is WP:NAVBOX (i.e. WP:SIDEBAR). Navigation templates are, as the name suggests, for navigation. They are not meant to be decorative pieces, as this edit of yours seemingly intended to change to by listing victims that do not have articles. Yue 🌙 (talk) 05:09, 2 June 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
