Nail in the coffin?

[edit ]

According to the old WCW official website and some other sites his finisher the nail in the coffin and the vampiro spike are actually two different moves but according to the OWW website, which is the largest pro wrestling database, they are the same move. Also in the video game WCW Backstage Assault the nail in the coffin finisher is actually a gordbuster and not a Micinoku driver so do you think we should change the moves and finishers facts? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ungu (talkcontribs) 14:25, 4 February 2007 (UTC).[reply ]

I've seen Vampiro indie matches in which his Michinoku Driver II finisher has been referred to by both names. I had always assumed the moves were the same with different names depending on what the promotion decided to call it. What I would say is that WCW Backstage Assault has a very poor reputation among gamers and it wouldn't surprise me that they'd screw up a move name, especially being that they seemingly had little respect for or knowledge of Vampiro. Just my personal opinion though. I'll see if I can find any more info. Suriel1981 15:29, 18 February 2007 (UTC) [reply ]
Okay, this is really going to throw the cat among the pigeons. I've now seen the Tombstone Driver referred to as a Vampiro Spike by WSX reviewers (even though, to my knowledge, the Tombstone hasn't long been part of Vampiro's repertoire). Suriel1981 15:48, 18 February 2007 (UTC) [reply ]
Okay, I've found some proof in an old match report from WCW that the moves are the same. Link here [[1]] Here's the quote: There's the Nail in the Coffin (called the Vampiro Spike by Tenay), and the 1,2,3. (3:48) Well, Hudson calls it the Vampiro Spike too, so I guess that's the new name. Suriel1981 17:42, 18 February 2007 (UTC) [reply ]
Have found the Vampiro Spike used as a name for the top-rope leg lariat [[2]] under Kick, Jumping Spin. The website in question though is of dubious quality (e.g. using the term Rana to apply to any flying legscissors) Suriel1981 18:01, 18 February 2007 (UTC) [reply ]
This German website [[3]] lists the Nail and the Spike as the same move.
The French commentators on this video [[4]] refer to a chokeslam as the Nail In The Coffin. This is getting confusing. Suriel1981 19:08, 18 February 2007 (UTC) [reply ]
This independent French profile [[5]] lists the moves as being the same. Suriel1981 19:08, 18 February 2007 (UTC) [reply ]

Have emailed a request for a definitive quote on the matter from Pro Wrestling Insider. If they choose to respond (which would appear on their Q&A section) their word can be considered a legitimate source, considering their longtime experience and knowledge of professional wrestling. [edit ]

Is is really necessary to have him listed in the vampire category, when hes not an actual vampire (or ever believed to be),The Unbeholden (talk) 08:51, 12 December 2009 (UTC) [reply ]

Mission Accomplished!

[edit ]

I've added a picture in the infobox, just as requested. --Jayemd (talk) 23:31, 27 August 2012 (UTC) [reply ]

Please see WP:NFC, specifically point 1 in WP:NFC#UUI. As Vampiro is still alive and active, a free use image should be used. Images found via a random google search do not qualify. Nici Vampire Heart 12:52, 28 August 2012 (UTC) [reply ]
