Seafaring
[edit ]Can someone define Seafaring ?
From the Dutch
[edit ]Can someone add a reference to the supposed origins of the word seamanship pls Frelke 21:27, 8 February 2006 (UTC) [reply ]
- [1] is what you need. Do not confuse the suffix -ship with the noun or verb ship Fiddle Faddle 21:18, 2 December 2006 (UTC) [reply ]
Typical Jobs
[edit ]Can anyone add some definitions of the types of typical jobs crew would perform on a ship? pls —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.232.186.116 (talk • contribs)
- This is a huge list. A typical job on a ship can be anything from the mundane (pumping the bilges) to the esoteric (find an obscure job and name it!). Formal manuals of seamanship are your best source here. Fiddle Faddle 21:15, 2 December 2006 (UTC) [reply ]
Communication
[edit ]This article could benefit from a section (or a separate article) on maritime communication. Morganfitzp (talk) 00:12, 8 July 2013 (UTC) [reply ]
