Survey of users
[edit ]Hello, as I was reading this article I noticed the statement:
Around 90% of Rumble users believed news hosted on the site was mostly accurate.
I'm trying to figure out the encyclopedic significance of that statement? I don't immediately see any, and wondering if it should be removed. Thanks for any thoughts. abcasada (talk) 22:27, 17 October 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
- For the same reason the other stats in the paragraph are encyclopedic. Why focus on that removal as opposed to the "48% had posted about abortion, 44% had posted about LGBTQ topics (specifically the LGBTQ grooming conspiracy theory)" statement? I think you would need to look at the paragraph as a whole. --CNMall41 (talk) 01:37, 18 October 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
Chris Pavlovski
[edit ]Is there any appetite for creating a page for the founder? I don't see an issue with adding the billionaire information here since there is no current page for him but want to be mindful of WP:COAT. CNMall41 (talk) 00:43, 14 January 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- I'm not seeing any notability separate from his position at Rumble. --Hipal (talk) 01:43, 14 January 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- There is this, not sure if it’s enough but seems very important: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/10/26/trump-rumble-tech-pavlovski/ Canadianr0ckstar2000 (talk) 19:42, 16 January 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- I can't access that directly, and the copy I've found looks incomplete. It looks like it's just making the most of the relationship Pavlovski built for his business dealings. Is the article only 4 paragraphs?
- Without commenting on reliability, https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/10/41562072/inside-trumps-inner-circle-how-jd-vance-backed-tech-magnate-pavlovski-is-shaping-up-right-wing-p is a similar treatment of the same info, correct?
- Could these help: https://www.forbes.com/sites/kylemullins/2024/12/20/the-jd-vance-backed-youtube-clone-rumble-is-finally-relevant-but-its-running-out-of-cash/ https://www.forbes.com/sites/kylemullins/2025/01/06/why-the-founder-of-the-right-wing-video-platform-rumble-is-now-a-billionaire/ ? --Hipal (talk) 18:41, 17 January 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- I did a deep dive and believe he would easily pass. Yes, he gained fame from Rumble but there is a lot of in-depth coverage about him that would pass GNG. I think my real question is if anyone wants to take the time to create the page. I didn't have an appetite for it but will if you think it would help avoid any possible coatracking in the future. --CNMall41 (talk) 21:42, 18 January 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
