I am the copyright holder of the text for Ronald Melzack which resides on my website www.science.ca as you have discovered. I've never contributed to Wikipedia before, but I love what you are doing. I happened to be searching for Ronald Melzack's address (homepage) and I found it at McGill, but in the process I found a listing for Melzack at Wikipedia that contained no content, so I copied the content from my own page. I give permission for Wikipedia to use this content on the Wikipedia site. Will there be a recognition of the origin of this information at www.science.ca?

Your comment here serves as a recognition. Items in Talk pages are never deleted, though they may be archived. Do note that by the nature of Wikipedia, your item may be edited, possibly heavily. Can you give us a name to identify you by? RickK 23:13, 15 Feb 2004 (UTC)

By the way, I am Barry Shell, and can be contacted via http://www.science.ca.

I've added a recognition to the article as well. By the nature of our license such recognition can't be required, but we often provide links to providers of original versions of our articles as a courtesy. --Delirium 03:18, Feb 23, 2004 (UTC)

I don't think that the Patrick Wall reference is to the correct Patrick Wall. 69.86.51.234 21:57, 29 November 2006 (UTC) [reply ]

Emeritus professor

[edit ]

Re the first sentence of the lede, presumably he was professor before he was emeritus professor, and the former is a more significant role? "John Doe is emeritus professor" makes sense but once Professor Doe is dead it becomes an odd detail to include. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 00:02, 9 January 2020 (UTC) [reply ]
