Potential Add

[edit ]

What I am interested in adding to this page is a section in regards to the educational/scholarship aspects of refugee camps. I believe that people are not completely aware that camps offer more than just a temporary shelter and hygienic items. gmousalimas (talk) 22:30, 15 February 2018 (UTC) [reply ]

Gmousalimas, you are right, a section on education is indeed missing - of course there are schools (see section facilities: UNHCR recommends one school per 5,000 persons). Thanks, Michtrich (talk) 00:18, 16 February 2018 (UTC) [reply ]

reception center and US/UK spelling mix

[edit ]

This article confusingly speaks of reception centers as places that refugees must pass through in order to get into refugee camps, which was apparently written by someone whose English is not very good and wants to refer to something else, perhaps the reception desk of camps. Refugee reception centers (or immigrant reception centers) are however completely different and separate institutions, as native English speakers know, and it's shocking that there is no separate article on them or a joint article on them and refugee camps with separate sections on each.

This article often uses the UK spelling centre in the article although the intro has US center. We should decide which spelling conventions to use for this and all other words. -Espoo (talk) 11:25, 17 September 2019 (UTC) [reply ]
