QPQ : No - ?
Overall: Article is long enough, new enough, contains no plagiarism, and is well-sourced. It's also very interesting! I have a preference for ALT0 (as I suspect the Nisga'a and Scottish had already fallen out about other things prior to the feeding, like the earlier refusal to return the pole, so the feeding might not really have been the cause). I was curious about the practice of feeding a totem pole and would have loved more detail or a link to follow for more information about that custom, if that's possible. I've only put a question mark as I wasn't clear about QPQ - is this your first DYK nomination Pretzelles? (popping back to say it's a bit short notice to have it run on the day of the return (29 Sep) but perhaps it could go on when viewing opens in October, if you get advance notice? Just a thought) DrThneed (talk) 07:42, 23 September 2023 (UTC) [reply ]
@DrThneed: Hi, thanks for giving this a look!
- I think Alt0 is probably the best one too. I haven't managed to find anything specific on the totem pole feeding part of the ceremony. There's a few discussions of the pole raising ceremony, but that's more what will happen when it's returned to the museum.
- This is my first DYK nom, yes!
- Haven't managed to find any information as to when it will be open to the public in October, I imagine they might release the information after the arrival ceremony on Friday.
Hope this helps! Pretzelles (talk) 15:48, 26 September 2023 (UTC) [reply ]
- Good to go then, thanks Pretzelles! Alt0 approved. DrThneed (talk) 19:30, 26 September 2023 (UTC) [reply ]
Name meaning?
[edit ]The name Ni'isjoohl is mentioned as also the name of a house (important family?) of the Nisga'a nation. Does anyone have any information on what this name means? ‐‐ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 21:03, 4 October 2023 (UTC) [reply ]
