Machine Gun Kelly (musician)MGK – Page title was changed back to Machine Gun Kelly (musician) without consensus. As stated in the article, MGK is his new name. ~2025-32075-42 (talk) 03:18, 24 November 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. Jeffrey34555 (talk) 02:33, 1 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

  • Comment: I don't have any opinion on the merits of the underlying proposal, but I wanted to quickly clarify the procedural situation. "Machine Gun Kelly", with a disambiguator of either "rapper" (2011–2019) or "musician" (2019–present), has been the stable title of this article for virtually its entire existence. On February 10 of this year, the article was boldly moved to "Mgk (musician)" (diff); the person who moved the article had attempted to start an RM on the topic but, due to errors in their template syntax, no formal RM was ever opened and so the proposal does not appear to have been noticed or discussed at all before the move happened. Nine days after the title was moved, another user started an RM to revert the bold move, but subsequently withdrew the RM after being informed that they could have the move reverted via WP:RM/TR instead. Indeed, that revert was carried out the following day. I have no objection to the article title being changed to "MGK" (with or without a DAB) if that achieves consensus, but if this discussion ends in a no-consensus result, I wanted to emphasize that the current title is the stable title at which the article should remain. • Support per WP:NAMECHANGES. Although instances of "Machine Gun Kelly" are still found in present-day sources, (a significant majority) use "MGK" or "mgk". I don't believe this was the case in 2019 when the article last came up for RM. Note that MGK is a longstanding primary redirect to this article. 162 etc. (talk) 23:49, 26 November 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
  • Support per WP:NAMECHANGES, especially given how well this is currently signposted in the lead. I should add, though, that there is no discussion of his name change in the article itself, which we should also rectify. — OwenBlacker (he/him; Talk) 14:17, 3 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
