Cheep, this image is under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International, which means it is free to share and remix, so how is using it for the main image a copyright violation? Helper201 (talk) 11:05, 7 August 2020 (UTC) [reply ]

Far-right

[edit ]

FMSky why do you think calling Le Pen "far-right" in the lead is WP:UNDUE? He has been widely described as such (sources presented by Hemiauchenia:[1], [2], [3])VR talk 19:04, 9 December 2021 (UTC) [reply ]

I agree that "far-right" isn't UNDUE for the lead. Here are a few heavily cited academic journals reporting Le Pen as "far-right":

Jean Marine Le Pen is notable coz he is polititian so his ideology is important and carries significant weight. So, yes for inclusion. We could instead/also use the word "nationalist". Cinadon 36 19:55, 9 December 2021 (UTC) [reply ]

+1 to this. "Far right" seems apt and well attested. Cheers, all. Dumuzid (talk) 03:39, 15 December 2021 (UTC) [reply ]
Le Pen is best known as a leader of the far right in France. TFD (talk) 05:10, 16 December 2021 (UTC) [reply ]
Agree with comments here: "far right" is clearly due and verifiable. BobFromBrockley (talk) 09:59, 17 December 2021 (UTC) [reply ]

Does he speak Breton?

[edit ]

He seems to have been born at a time when it was still passed to the children by anyone, not just revivalists. 89.64.70.36 (talk) 23:00, 18 October 2022 (UTC) [reply ]

Interesting question. In this video interview from four years ago, [4] Le Pen said his only regret was not learning Breton. He said all four of his grandparents spoke it, with the maternal side writing it; his mother spoke it, but not his father. Am I right that YouTube can be cited if the channel is the copyright holder (it's the channel's own video, and not a self-publish by Le Pen, so I wouldn't call it WP:PRIMARY either). Torturer

[edit ]

His political career is enlighted and explained by his colonialist struggle in Algeria and his use of torture. The introduction should mention those facts. 2A02:A03F:63D8:1C01:4ECC:6AFF:FE19:1368 (talk) 09:20, 13 January 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

Money from Russia

[edit ]

Why is the fact that he was financed by Russia not mentioned? Just like Marine Le Pen?

There are many more sources available so why is it not mentioned in the article?
