Discrete_global_grid#Geocoding_variants and List of geocoding systems

Definition varians

[edit ]
Variant 1
"A geocode is the GPS coordinates (or the latitude and longitude) of a physical address" ref, Two main ways to get a location's geocode:
  1. to physically stand in the spot you want to geocode and use a GPS device to give you the precise latitude/longitude coordinates of where you're standing.
  2. pointing in the map, or when using address and map, to interpolate a location's geocoordinates by using math to approximate its position.
Variant 2
"A geocode is ..." ref2.

  • badRef1 say that the term geocode "is just a fancy, shorter way of saying "a latitudinal/longitudinal coordinate"", and adopt the defintion "a geocode is the GPS coordinates for a specific location".
why it is wrong? See geocode, it is only one code, a code relative a finite set (e.g. latitude have infinite distinct valid values) and the code syntax must be controlled.
