I'd like to correct the article: Earl Woods had a brother and four sisters: Miles Woods, Jr., Hattie Bell, Freda, Lilian, Mable Lee (oldest first and Earl was the youngest). I knew all six of them personally. (Hattie was my babysitter. Earl was three years older than I and we became playmates. During my grade school years, I spent many scores of days in their originally four room home. Miles, Jr. was older, had finished school, and moved on, but the four girls slept in one bedroom with their mother and Earl had the other bedroom.) I have many recollections of Earl and his family .... a finer family I'll never know! Dave pfuetzedave <at> sbcglobal.net PfuetzeDave 23:42, 9 February 2007 (UTC) [reply ]

Merge?? I have removed the merge cite. This is obviously a stand-alone article, about a person who is Distinct from his son, Tiger Woods.--Raymondwinn (talk) 02:12, 7 April 2012 (UTC) [reply ]

Perhaps I'm missing something, but isn't one of the purposes of Wikipedia to seek the truth as opposed to create an environment that hides from it? With that in mind, I strongly advise the writers of this page to review the Vanity Fair articles, which to this date have not been rebutted, about Earl Woods wreckless personal behavior including but not limited to (1) participating in many affairs, to Tiger's knowledge, while married to Tiger's mother...and (2) showing up drunk after spending the night with ladies in his hotel room in Florida to receive a "Father of the Year" award. Earl proceeded to give an embarrassing, rambling, lengthy speech while obviously intoxicated.

His personal behavior is part of what defines who he is. Please - let's not hide the truth from the readers who might believe this man was somebody that he wasn't.

Notability?

[edit ]
This article fails WP:Notabilty. His only claim to fame is his relationship to his son. His military career didn't produce any notability as his highest military award was an bronze star. Meanwhile dozens of articles about Navy Cross awardees are being deleted as non-notable because they were enlisted persons. What is the big deal about being Tiger Woods' father? Convince me of Earl Woods notability. Cuprum17 (talk) 18:26, 2 February 2021 (UTC) [reply ]
100% agree with this. This seems to completely fail WP:Notability.
