Victimization percentage figures: General-population and/or non-disabled baseline?

[edit ]

"A 2012 survey by the Interactive Autism Network found that 63% of children with autism are bullied in the United States.[8] / Over a third of autistic adults said they had been bullied at work in a survey by the UK's National Autistic Society.[9] / 82% of children with learning disability in the UK are bullied, according to Mencap, and 79% are scared to go out in case they are bullied.[10]": These statistics need baselines for comparison vs. the student population as a whole (including both LD and non-LD students) and/or vs. non-LD students specifically. 96.36.104.238 (talk) 22:01, 27 February 2015 (UTC) [reply ]

Amending the maintenance template for this page

[edit ]

Hi. I agree this page has multiple issues as flagged in the maintenance template at the top of the page. I've just gone in and reorganized the content, played around with the paragraph headings and introduced some sub-headings, to bring the article more in line with Wikipedia's Layout Guidelines. (I've not changed any substantive content.) This was one of the issues flagged in the maintenance template, but there is another flagged issue remaining and I would suggest that there are more. (For example, more/better referencing would be useful, and more content to make the article more relevant to all demographics of people with a disability. At present, the article is very children-focused. Also, there are many forms of abuse - bullying, sexual abuse and murder aren't exclusive to all other forms, so some tweaks are required to reflect this.)

I'm not experienced in source editing (as opposed to visual editing), so I'm having trouble figuring out how to amend the maintenance template (as opposed to removing it entirely) to retain the neutrality issue flagged, and also add in some more. Wondering if anyone would be interested in mentoring me on this? Cheers, StrillA7 (talk) 03:41, 25 November 2019 (UTC) [reply ]
