What on earth is with the pictures used here? Surely there are public domain paintings of the guy? john k 20:40, 30 June 2007 (UTC) [reply ]

Sarah Lennox, Duchess of Richmond surely can't be his great great grandfather in the family tree near the bottom of this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.92.168.165 (talk) 16:23, 28 October 2007 (UTC) [reply ]

Lord Edward FitzGerald Surely mention should be made that he was the first cousin and close friend of Lord Edward Fitzgerald the United Irishmen leader who died of wound received on his arrest in 1798 as the Great Rebellion raged. His role was very important in the creation of the 'republican tradtion' in Irish politics and he is seen as one the most important figures in 1798 rebellion which implanted republicanism as a political force in Ireland and finally lead to the establishmen of the Irish state! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.15.28.106 (talk) 00:48, 11 June 2008 (UTC) [reply ]

Start of Legacy section could use some work. I corrected a couple of typos but the first two sentences there still make little sense. Geoff Bache (talk) 21:24, 13 February 2011 (UTC) [reply ]

"Fox was born at 9 Conduit Street,[2] London, the second surviving son of Henry Fox, 1st Baron Holland – a disciple of Robert Walpole and rival of Pitt the Elder, who had amassed a considerable fortune by exploiting his position as Paymaster General of the forces – and Lady Caroline Lennox – a daughter of Charles Lennox, 2nd Duke of Richmond and a direct descendant of Charles II." This crime against grammar causes some confusion, so in order to fix it I may exclude some of the information it seeks to convey. 98.206.155.53 (talk) 05:16, 24 March 2011 (UTC) [reply ]

In a similar vein, this sentence from the lede: His father was a leading Whig and Fox rose to prominence in the House of Commons as a forceful and eloquent speaker with a notorious and colourful private life, though his opinions were rather conservative and conventional. I'm going to break it into two, then flesh one of them out by a quick mention of Henry Fox's rivalry with Pitt the Elder. After all, it seems odd to finish a sentence by bringing up CJF's rivalry with Pitt the Younger, and then start off the next sentence talking about Henry Fox, without mentioning the rivalry between Fox pere and Pitt the Elder; the parallelism was remarked on by contemporaries and historians.
