The current consensus is to use "Celine Dion", without the diacritical mark on the "e", in the article title. Under the English-language Wikipedia's guidelines for article titles, it is preferred to use the most common name and spelling, as determined by its prevalence in reliable English-language sources. Even Ms. Dion herself officially spells her name without the accent in most of her English-language material.
This article is written in Canadian English , which has its own spelling conventions (colour, centre, travelled, realize, analyze) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

change "residency in Vegas and is considered" to "residency in Vegas that is considered" (rationale: her residency is considered, not she is considered, inasmuch as she is not a residency but a person) 2.108.37.212 (talk) 09:12, 28 November 2023 (UTC) [reply ]

Done though I changed it to "She signed a 100ドル million contract for a residency in Vegas, which is considered one of the most lucrative and risky residency contracts in the touring industry" to reflect the source's language. -- Pinchme123 (talk) 06:36, 30 November 2023 (UTC) [reply ]

The Accent Mark

[edit ]

a large part of her catalog (mainly the French albums) have the accent mark over the first e, while the english language albums do not. DO you think it should be noted that sometimes it's stylized without it career wise? MaJic (talk) 00:50, 27 May 2024 (UTC) [reply ]

Celine s ancestry

[edit ]

This article often refers to her as French. She is not. She is quebecois. Big difference. MarcG123 (talk) 19:25, 22 November 2024 (UTC) [reply ]

Can you point out where, in specific, the article refers to her as French in the context of nationality? Are you sure it's not referring to the language?Note that Celine's ancestry is French - both of her parents were of French descent: [1] (not that it matters) RachelTensions (talk) 19:47, 22 November 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
