Lonrho scandal

[edit ]

The article currently states:

His career ended when Lonrho was involved in a scandal over the breaking of trade sanctions against British-held Rhodesia.

No reference is given for this. According the the Times article 'Mr Angus Ogilvy announces his resignation from Lonrho board' 21/04/1973, the timing of his resignation was due to the ongoing struggle to oust Tiny Rowland as chief executive of Lonrho. I will remove this claim shortly. - Crosbiesmith (talk) 08:37, 21 June 2008 (UTC) [reply ]

I've removed reference to sanctions but added a reference to the Times on his resignation. The reference does mention sanctions but its not obvious that his resignation was solely or even mainly due to sanctions evasion. - Crosbiesmith (talk) 11:36, 21 June 2008 (UTC) [reply ]

He was also third cousin, once removed of Pamela Harriman.

That has to be a so-what. Think how many other 3rd cousins, once removed, she must have had. Valetude (talk) 14:31, 13 June 2021 (UTC) [reply ]
